Sounds like he might resign for less and longer deal. Making room for CP3?

Yeah, maybe. Or they could just be creating room to bring back some of their own and sign some mid level free agents. Jonathan Simmons is going to get paid in free agency, and maybe they're trying to keep him in the fold.

Rumors the Knicks are open to trading Porzingas. Are they playing, 'how angry can you make a Knicks fan'?

I guess that's one of those, it's the Knicks type of moves. Really don't see how this makes much sense unless they get a monster return but who are trading him to that could provide that? Boston for a ton of picks maybe?

Wow. If Phil Jackson does end up trading Porzingis, does that vault him past Isaiah Thomas as the worst GM/decision maker in Knicks history? He'd have (among other accomplishments)
- the insistence on running an obsolete offense that really only ever worked when it featured four of the best 50 players of all time
- gave away Iman Shumpert and JR Smith for a second rounder and a few scrubs
- gave a declining Carmelo Anthony a max deal AND a no trade clause
- signed a well past his prime Joakim Noah to a four year, 72 million dollar deal. Only three years and 54 million to go on that bad boy.

At what point does Jackson become better known for destroying the Knicks than for winning eleven NBA championships as a head coach? Are we close yet?

Cavs needed to get rid of their GM, it was time. The team was top-heavy as f*** last year. LeBron asked, and he did not receive.

I think the Lakers won since they get cap space for next year (PG13) and possibly LeBron or another star player.

For the Lakers, this is longer-term play to clear space for Paul George and LeBron James pursuit. Lonzo Ball on way at No.2 https://twitter.com/wojverticalnba/status/877287243236462592 …

What do you say, @bringmagicback ? PG for D'Angelo Russell and the #2 pick this year? What if Indiana agreed to throw in Glenn Robinson III and take on Deng or Mozgov?

I wouldn't have done that trade. I would have however done the trade they did. I feel they are going to trade their two first round later picks, not the number two, and Clarkson for PG. The reason I wouldn't trade a lot for PG is because we are going to get him anyway. Mozgov 54 mil off books, Lakers seem to think Russell is immature. It does suck because I really like Clarkson . I think they will stick deng contract on the PG trade hopefully

Brook Lopez contract expires next year I think this puts us into position to get LeBron (gross) and somebody like DeMarcus Cousins Who should be playing here already anyway. I think a lineup with cousins LeBron along with ball and randle and george makes us the favorite. This lineup is 100% Plausible and even likely. There is one thing for sure the Lakers will be playing for championships in the next two years with the magic man at the helm

I don't think that lineup gets LeBron any closer to knocking off Golden St, assuming they keep their big four.

He also not that good, like Randle he can obviously play in the NBA but they are most certainly not difference-makers.

Nets will turn him loose, he'll be neck and neck with Harden for shots hoisted and turnovers.

I disagree, I think he will be an all star caliber player. Very young 21 years of age, Randle 22 years of age and both playing in only their 2nd season. Clearly to early to tell. Lakers rave about Randle. Is russel going to be hardin/westbrook? no. But they both have the potential to be very good.

Also, not sure about your comment on turnovers? Look at the list.....Looks like a lot of great players average a lot more t/os than him. Kind of comes with the territory when the offense runs through you. Considering he's still developing, not to big a deal. Not sure of your point on that.

Fg % you have a point. But he doesnt shoot alot (more than what he would if he had help).

this guys trajectory looks like corn charts over the past 10 years. One of the leauges stars and then just some guy. Name a player who's career resembles his that didnt get injured majorily.....just for fun

Oh no doubt!! We should have seen this back when strung the Magic along and was dumb enough to sign back with them knowing he wanted to leave

Man folks really don't like Dwight

No question Atlanta is offloading the $47m left on Dwight's deal and there is a significant amount of buzz surrounding Millsap (he should be able to get near-max money elsewhere) that suggests Atlanta is heading for a total rebuild.

On Dwight: I have watched/read in the last two years that other than working with Ewing while still in Orlando, he has not ever really worked on his game, keeping up with conditioning but not expanding his shooting or post move game. Somewhat unfortunate considering what was seen from him while with the Magic as this will be his fourth team in five years and likely his last shot to be an impact player with anyone.

In other potential news, the Clippers are slowly beginning to shop DeAndre Jordan, PHX is rumored to be involved. With Chris Paul likely staying (won't get near as much $$$ anywhere else), one would think he might be more on the keep and rework side where as Blake Griffin seemed to be all but gone if and when they consider pieces to build around LeBron should he leave Cleveland after next season. The George/LeBron steam around the Lakers for 2018 now seems more realistic as Bron's L.A. team of choice should they move Jordan. IMO only.
