ESPN Laying Off Additional On-Air Personalities

Can we get that lady on the Big 10 network who calls Iowa Hawkeye games fired? I think her name is Beth something. I now it's not ESPN but she is the worst. She makes hawkeye games even worse to watch.

I just tuned in and that's not Rusillo - is it Adnan Virk? He makes it sound like Danny Kanell died. Ryen Russillo back on Monday and now on to sports.

Beth is on ESPN and not the Big 10 Network. The bigger problem here is that you're watching Hawkeye games...

I mean, one of the co-hosts of the show just got axed like 2 hours before show time. I bet that is pretty surprising/a weird situation in general.

Hannah Storm with a "reduced role" according to the Deadspin article tracking the layoffs? That stinks, I remember her as a bit of a groundbreaker. Was prominent on the NBA on NBC in the 90s. (And of course... dat NBA on NBC theme music!!)

I'm hoping they don't let her cover tennis any more. I know, I'm the only one that watches tennis.

It's definitely a weird situation. I was just interested to see what Russilo was going to say because he's not one to keep quiet on the issues at ESPN and job cuts. Monday is going to be a must-listen show for me.

I actually like Kannell. He keeps his loyalty to FSU/blue bloods but he admits it and is funny about it imo.

Weird...will be astonished if Stephen A. Smith is allowed but like someone said, it's all about the clicks and society loves it some loud obnoxious confrontational behavior so he'll probably get a raise.

I don't watch much ESPN so I won't feel much loss from this considering how watered down their reporting is. I've actually never heard of hardly any of these people.

I assume anyone laid off gets quite a buy out/severance package or at least remainder of their contract.

IMO, ESPN spent too much time trying to become a sports AND entertainment channel(s) instead of fully concentrating on the sports part.
.
It (is/was?) kind of in their name...
originally an initialism for Entertainment and Sports Programming Networks

Dakich is safe, unfortunately, because he's a part timer, only calls games and does a little studio work during College Basketball. He actually does a local radio show in Indianapolis the rest of the year and, yes, its as awful as you think it would be.
