Saw this one, too. Whats not to like about this guy as a productive wing player? See he's originally from Dayton,Ohio. New Dayton coach and/or Ohio State might be all over this guy, tho.
Worries me the staff doesn't seem too eager to chase these guys, but maybe that is being done behind the scenes
People are always going to say said player was a waste of a scholarship because our rotation will just be 7-9 deep... there's always going to be guys who don't play.
There's better recruits than some of our starters at schools like UNC, Duke, and Kentucky who don't play for the same reason.

I am going to say unnecessary panic and because the coach is not tweeting out who is trying to bring in.
You also take someone for a worst case scenario. If multiple guys get hurt you have to go 11 deep and make sure you have guys on the roster

Yeah when Matt A was here he tied himself to seemingly every transfer and leaked that to the media. Looks like he's still following that model at St. John's.

Some you act like Holden was Prohms first choice, he was a safety net in case Malou and Lard didn't end up being eligible. It was an emergency plan that resulted in a big 12 tourney title, finishing 4th in the league and advancing to the second round of the NCAA tourney, coming off a year where we graduated EVERYONE who played meaningful minutes in the frontcourt. What exactly are people upset about?
Notice that this staff is pretty quite with what they are doing on the recruiting trail. Just be patient people.
