Not a great clip for Fred...

I'm going to be mad if Fred like, say, goes to Duke to replace Coach K.

And wins like five national championships after doing it.

You might as well just fully prepare yourself for the kick to the balls and assume he's going to end up at KU. After you do that, anything else will be a mild relief in comparison.

My only response to that is the ISU equivalent of this...

Would really be interesting to know how Hoiberg feels about this. You suppose he regrets taking the Bulls job? Wonder if it turned out to be everything he thought it would be.......or not.........

Man, I met Fred when he was still in HS and even played against him at State gym and still don't understand the infatuation with him. He's an awesome dude but he's a grown man and I never give his success/failure at Chicago a second thought. I honest can wrap by head around it. He followed his dream. He's more fortunate than 99% of the worlds population.

I think I'm actually fatigued by the rubes pining for him to be here more than anything.

Serious hypothetical question: If Fred gets fired, would you want Jamie to fire Prohm and rehire Hoiberg?

I legit don't think I'd support that. So far, Prohm is recruiting better than Hoiberg and actually is coaching teams to play defense.

Hoiberg hated recruiting so he went to the NBA where the "recruiting" falls on the GM and not the head coach. Well Fred, if you give the team building job to someone else you end up with Rondo and old man Wade. Which way would you rather have it?

There aren't supposed to be any dumb questions in this world, but this is right up there, even if it is hypothetical. Fred will never return here to coach, period. Regardless of the circumstances.

I would hope Jamie hires Fred as some part of the athletic department administration rather than replacing a successful Prohm.

I really want to feel bad for the guy but I cant. Everyone knew that roster and ownership situation was a train wreck. Be careful what you wish for...

I don't think anyone feels bad. He has a 25 million guaranteed contract, he's coaching in the NBA, his wife is happy, his heart is repaired, and something tells me he'll be just fine coaching NBA-wise, too. He's pretty much reached success in all facets of his life. Sure do miss him, tho.

I think you can still feel bad. Despite all those things you've described, he is undoubtedly a proud person who has succeeded at literally everything he's ever done in life. It has to be hard on him to struggle like this, and doing so in such a public manner.

No, I know a lot of people on here complain about CP, but I honestly think we will be better off. Thank The Mayor for getting us back to relevance, Prohm is doing the right things.
