It will be interesting to see how next year's team performs = young and talented on the perimeter, with ?? at the 4-5. I hope they exceed expectations, we're due if this year's team continues to struggle with our senior laden backcourt and questionable 4-5 play.

There's no question at one of those spots. Whichever spot Solomon Young plays won't be a question at all.

I don't expect to make the tourney next year, but I say it all of the time; making the tourney as a P5 team has never been easier in the history of the tournament as it is right now.

I think Lindell can start from the get-go, possibly? I mean, we're going to be inexperienced anyways, just as well throw him into the fire since he practices and plays against a lot of high level competition this year, as far as prep schools go. Agree on not expecting to make the tourney next year. I think we'll be similar to Texas this year. Young talent but a work in progress.

Agreed, although I understand that there will be a lapse, for some reason I am more excited for next years team (already) than most in the past. Maybe it is because I really like the players we have coming in, or because it is the first year of true uncertainty, either way I am excited to see what the future holds

Years where there are a lot of new faces, few huge expectations but a lot of potential can be really fun. Will they come right out of the gate and surprise? Will they start slow but pick up steam as they get used to playing each other? It should be a lot of fun.

Honestly, I'm more excited about next year than the remainder of 2017.

Back-court looks more like a reload than a rebuild.
Plus we add length w/ Lewis that we've been missing.

I have no reason to believe Young in year two and Lard in one.five aren't a substantial upgrade from our current front-court.

I really appreciate how Prohm doesn't rush to fill his class.
2017 really only needs a grad transfer post a little more serviceable than this year's crop.
To be fair to Bowie I think if he could find a way to not foul constantly he'd be solid.

Then in 2018 if we can hit big on a true point and continue adding a good HS post annually we're going to be scary for the foreseeable future.

Bowie is really good for who he is. He just doesn't fill the main hole in our roster. I think we'd be pleased if we had just needed him as a 4.

Depends on what happens with JUCO's in the spring. Just a P5 guard with experience. I'm thinking like Spike Albrecht. A 3 point shooter more than a PG but still okay to run the PG.

One year from right now, I have little doubt that we'll be a better team overall. We're going to experience growing pains the first half of the season, certainly, but I have little reason to believe that we won't be better. Now, that may not translate to wins due to youth and inexperience, but as a whole, we'll be better. I'm putting lots of stock into Prohm's ability to coach here.

I think you mean Jaylen Fisher. Wigginton is going to jump in the ratings a bit too so he'll be ranked higher than Fisher. Fisher has been pretty solid but he turns it over a lot

I don't know how you have a "complete" roster without an even partially proven scorer at this level.

It definitely should be more complete. It will also "look" more like a Steve Prohm team and give us a taste of what his teams truly will play like (allowing for some time to acclimate and learn the system).

In a perfect world, had Lard been eligible, I think by now we would be seeing Lard/Young rotate at the 5, Burton/Bowie at the 4, and Babb would join the rotations 1-3 spots.

I'm sorta in the same boat. We lose a lot of ball security this year. Some experience in the backcourt would be nice because, IMO, turnovers are bound to go up next year. Monte's assist to turnover ratio is something we've come to expect recently versus something we have to strive for.

Experience doesn't automatically mean better, but it doesn't hurt when Huggy is throwing ten guys at you trying to get you rattled.
