Random Thoughts IX (The first 8 were probably better)

I can trade you a card I got from one of your old sorority sisters. Made me feel really old since she must be 40 now and I have known her since she was 3 years old. Her little boy is pretty cute.
The older or the younger sister? Younger would be about 40. I have seen her more than once at Target, but have not pulled the random "hi you probably don't remember me".

Speaking of the random meetings, I was leaving the mall and held the door for an older couple who looked familiar. After they walked out they stopped me and said, "Aren't you a (maiden name)?" I probably have not seen them in years, I think they go to my parent's church. My kids look so much like me that people from my hometown can place them in our family by looking at them.

Postings here today make me think that maybe, just maybe, I should do some Christmas cards. Been looking at them for a week and surprisingly they have not addressed and mailed themselves. Low tech stuff. So disappointing.

Knocked mine out yesterday, down to 17 this year it used to be closer to 50. I just have thinned the herd thru the years from ones I never receive and dropped some extended relatives off that don't reply. Still have some Christmas shopping and cooking to do. Worst part is I work Sat. so cooking will be on Fri. and heat up on Sat.

On random things, I ran into an old student who used to "threaten" to kill me with his shoe multiple times this semester. I was not surprised that he never seemed to have a glimmer of recognition at all.

Older sis, she lives in Golden Valley not too far from me. So, even a little older. :)

Do people watch the big bang theory for entertainment? What am I missing that makes this show watchable.

The person we are talking about is a former neighbor of his. ;) He knew her when she was growing up--I was in the same sorority as her in college. She is probably 43.

So, like a daughter almost. Otherwise, I was going to say boxster is hip for his age. 43, huh?..............what sorority? You are knocking on my age.

I've been reading regency recently. I may have made Erik watch part of a PBS special about mannerisms this week while Z was coloring with me. It really was interesting to listen to.

CyBirdy and I are practically sorority sisters!

Off shoot of the ISU colony we used to have on my street, two doors up was an ISU architect whose daughters all went to ISU, one door up another ISU architect whose daughters all went to ISU. Architect 2 moved in because he knew architect 1 and I moved in because I knew them both. Back when I was the "young guy" on the street as they were 10 and 20 years my senior.

Our cards were mailed yesterday. We cut down the number we sent this year and plan on cutting it even more so next year. It's kind of too bad. It's a great picture of the kids in front of a spring at Yellowstone.

This may be more funny to me. I've been getting their ads every day. Even though we probably won't go, it has been fun to see what little thing they say. I then try to see if it would fit the song.

"On the 6th day of Christmas, Outback tried to tempt me...free bloomin onion...."
