Random Thoughts VIII: The Ocho

Just mix all the cans together and you'll have exactly the color you want.

He is about right. We were trying to find a nice shade of aqua blue for the girls' room. Bought some sample jars, didn't like any of them, added white to one to get what we wanted and had them match that.

When we did the (at the time) nursery, I wanted a light apple green. We had samples, painted on the wall and chose. Hubby got a full gallon of the paint, painted three walls before he came to the samples on the wall, and we noticed the color was way off. It was more of a Margarita lime green. Had to run back to Ankeny HD to get the right color. Part of why we have only painted 2 rooms in 9 years.

DH's parents built their house when he was about 3.

He was out of college before they painted anything.

I'm really trying to not follow that same path!!

Does DH realize that this painting thing probably won't stop at just one room? Also, he'll only get lucky after painting the first room. The rest of the rooms he'll be working pro bono.

I don't enjoy painting but if I can crank up the music and have a fan running there are worse mindless jobs to do. Honestly, it's taping the edges that stinks.

Painting! Getting ready to toss on painting clothes and paint one of the garage walls with some concrete block waterproofing paint.

Got back from helping broken ankle friend. Needed to have his old Mustang convertible driven to an appt to get the top fixed. Haven't driven a muscle car in decades. Man, the clutch and transmission in that '87 Mustang was just crude and unrefined. Reminded me why I was never a muscle car guy. My impression is that his "baby" is a POS I would never want to drive again.

don't remember taping edges at home......maybe mom didn't care. I don't mind indoor painting though it's been a while and I have no idea if my 'technique' results in "what drunkard did that wall" or not

painting barn walls in summer though, man that makes me thankful for indoor walls. Plus no wasps swarming you inside.

I'm going to have a fun time in a week or so. New computer headed my way. If certain things don't install correctly and I have to reload a bunch of things, I told my boss I'll cry. Or possibly laugh in such a way that indicates that I've lost my mind. She promised we'll make IT fix it and not me.
