Random Thoughts VIII: The Ocho

As a PSA for any parents out there that are debating seeing it, think twice before seeing the animated movies Storks. We saw it this past weekend. There were some good parts and decent humor, but there was one character (pigeon) that was on the JarJar Binks level of annoying. I question the people involved that thought it was remotely funny.

How do you pronounce "osceola"?

I say ah-see-o-la but my wife says oh-see-o-la.

Well I didn't get the job. Not that upset. There were only 2 spots open and I don't know how many other people applied. Hours would have been brutal and I probably would have missed all my sister's games in her final year.

I'd say your wife is right.

You are married. Your wife is always right. In this case she actually is though.

The wife is right about the town in Iowa.

There is a town with the same spelling in Wisconsin pronounced with the "Ah" sound. They sell beer at their American Legion league high-school-aged baseball games.

Wisconsin, never change.

I was listening to sports radio in KC yesterday and one of the announcers was talking about some scuffle during a football game over the weekend. Instead of using the term "rabbit punch" he said "donkey punch".

I was taking a drink of water at the time and did my first ever spit-take.

Know your animals, people.

Dibs on the ***official cyhiphopp avatar uniform thread***

I can't wait to complain about the font

Ah ha ha. I can't make this up. This is from the Just Nope thread:

I don't want to come off as a **** because it doesn't bother me but your avatar's shoulder stripes are backwards. Cardinal strikers are on the outside with a gold stripe in the middle.

I just register to vote in Wisconsin which is kind of bittersweet because my vote will probably mean more, but I'm not voting in my home state.

Also, Wisconsin makes it very difficult for students to vote because we can't use our student id's unless they expire within two years and they are good for five years. So I have to go to union south to pick up a special id which the University of Wisconsin is handing out to make it so we can vote

Edit: I also registered to vote on national voter registration day, so that was kind of cool

You should vote in Chicago. Just pretend that you're dead.
