Have realized if you start to type something and decide not to post and leave the page and come back to it your words you typed but didn't post are still there.

Just back from our town's annual parade. Major a huge candy haul. Lord knows I'm to old for it but this is my one time of the year to get my candy on. Was with my mom and people from our church one of whom had their granddaughter with her so I gave her several of mine.

I'm starting to like that feature...if I start to type something and I get called away, or jump to another thread, my post is still saved as a draft for me and I don't have to retype it. I can also walk away from an angry post and let myself calm down first in order to edit it.

Third icon from the right (black page with white circle) is "drafts". You can delete the draft using the functions under that icon. :)

Boxster's run talk made me go do 4 miles. Pretty decent. Loosening the shoelaces way more than I thought necessary worked - no more numbness!

Now I have 45 minutes to shower and get ready to get to the rehearsal thing. Should have gone running sooner.

Lunch was rice and carne guisada (ground beef, tomato sauce, potatoes, green peppers, oregano, garlic, fennel, Cavenders seasoning, achiote, and cilantro). Unfortunately, my plantains were still not ripe enough, even after putting them in a paper bag (you can use that trick for bananas as well). Maybe I can make those tomorrow.

I've cooked a lot this week since I've been home all week. Took the kids to a birthday party today and everyone is just exhausted now. Probably take it easy the rest of the afternoon.

Ever had banana lumpia? Holy ****, that stuff is delicious.

Watching Flip or Flop. They were taking down a pine tree. Obviously hired a cheap crew because the guy was climbing the tree to cut it down. Idiot cuts the top of the tree and drops it right on the house.

CG back with some running inspiration for the old man. Guess I have to get off my ass and go for a run in the park. Been stalling all afternoon. :)

Rainy day domestic stuff. Did four loads o'laundry, watched some baseball, read some Jack Reacher and fell asleep in the comfy chair. Three loads dried....waiting for the laundry fairies to fold them and put them away (also please sort the socks).

Can't say I have, but I did notice it is a plantain recipe (not actually bananas). I love plantains. Ripe or green, I have multiple recipes for them. My wife's family makes a recipe called etheka which is ripe plantains with cinnamon and sugar, battered and deep fried. Probably similar to banana lumpia (minus the eggroll shell). On our western hemisphere, only Caribbean, lower Central America, and South American cuisine use plantains. Mexico and northern Central America do not eat them at all. No idea why.
