Random Thoughts VIII: The Ocho

I had a ganglion cyst on my left foot on the side of my heel. Tried to remove it surgically when I was 6, came back, two times of trying to "freeze" it out, and they finally did surgery again when I was 15. Sooommetimes it still hurts. I won't take a pic of the scar....for pants' sake.

So pants, your cyst is basically filled with dandruff, I suppose. (Flaked off skin from your scalp)

Seriously toying with the idea of going out for a test jog. Alumni Association is having an informal walk/run around Lake nokomis next week with beers at lakeside cafe afterwards. It's only 2.7 miles. I blame CG's running posts for me even thinking about testing this.

Apparently 450 miles of biking hasn't done much for my aerobic fitness or maybe I am just too ******' old. Have burnt calories and built some leg muscles but maybe not biking hard enough for aerobic bennies?

Good: 2.5 miles without walking
Bad: Slow slow slow at 10:40 pace. :oops: Embarrassed.
Good: Right foot did not hurt. :)
Bad: Asthma lungs that don't affect me biking bugged me for the 1st mile. :(

Results: Inconclusive. Unsettling. Further testing required. Maybe Saturday.

GTO, how did little GTO's haircut go? I assume the cookie jar is no longer safe since he is climbing?:)

According to Mrs. GTO, it was a nightmare and he cried the whole time. Can't say it was a good haircut, but she said she just had to get it over with so not sure how much time they had to actually finish up properly.

We found out that sitting on the parents lap helped with kids' haircut. I don't know if it helped the kid but I seemed to enjoy the hair dresser sitting on my lap.

Who needs cupcakes? Butterbeer (as in the drink from Harry Potter) flavor with chocolate wands on top. When you go out for Great Plains before dessert, there is no room for dessert.

Had a fun 11th bday with the second child. She likes Harry Potter so I had made up a Hogwarts acceptance letter like in the book and had it delivered by our fake garden owl. She thought that was pretty neat. Her favorite gift was The Force Awakens DVD, so she like Star Wars as well.

Sorry, was going to post a picture but the file was too delicious.

Speaking of owls, that POd owl that I thought I chased away at the farm is back. Was mowing and saw a claw sticking out from under something. Got within a couple feet and could tell it's still mad.

That's a pretty cool idea.

Oddly enough, I picked up a four pack of butterbeer last night on a whim and am sipping it now. Really sweet stuff but it is tasty for a novelty.

I have a small one on my neck I think. If I squeeze like I'm popping a zit, sometimes a bit smelly white stuff comes out.
