I agreed initially with the vader being a badass comments at first but now that I think about the time frame of the movie he is an "old" man jedi errrrr sith at this point. Maybe not as psycho powerful as a freshly chopped up Anakin Darth Varder. That young very very very hateful Anakin Vader is a scarier thought.

As for James Earl Jones, he voiced Vader in Star Wars Rebels and I thought he sounded just fine. They can enhance audio so much these days I don't think they'll have any problem getting it right.

I really like the portrayal of Vader in Star Wars Rebels. He's at the front lines several times, and really kicking *** every time. The recent season finale and the showdown between Ahsoka and Vader was great. I especially liked:

I watch this show with my kids and this season has been great. The season finale was crazy.

Very true. Unless you're an advanced jedi, Vader might as well be a horror villain to you. If you hear him coming, you run. And he keeps coming.

When James Earl Jones passes away they are done with Vader in anymore films. The thought of having any other voice is sacrilege. To me it's the voice that makes the character.

Some details on Rogue One got leaked yesterday when an early version of the Visual Guide was let loose on the internet. It gives the names and details of some of the main characters plus info on new ships. Definitely spoilers, but nothing earth shattering. It looks like a mock up that was meant for limited distribution but got out prematurely. Disney is ****** and trying to put out the fire, but I don't think anything is in there that we wouldn't have heard before the movie opens.

I've heard they have to do some reshoots because they thought rogue one was too dark.... What a shame I think that would've been a really cool movie. Are they trying to make it more kid friendly?

I know. A darker Star Wars movie would be awesome. I'm hoping that Disney isn't falling into the same trap that Lucas did starting with Jedi.

Supposedly the reports coming out now are that they are doing re-shoots in order to provide more character development. I think somewhere it was reiterated that Rouge One was still going to be a war film. However, they may have to lighten it up in order to keep it at PG-13.

The word I got from my boss who's a huge Star Wars fan, was they were doing reshoots because the test audiences didn't like that Rogue didn't tie in more to the original sets of trilogies. I guess there was even some confusion that Rogue One ISN'T eps. 8.

Supposedly more Darth Vader and some Han Solo appearances? Not sure where he got that, or how reliable.

If all that is true, I think I'll be hugely disappointed. I like the idea of a tangent story line and a whole new view point.

Who the hell knows which is more accurate. Is Entertainment Weekly doing Disney a favor with some damage control, or are the gossip sites trying to get page clicks by spreading gossip about a movie under an extreme microscope. I'm gonna pretend everything is fine and the movie will be awesome.

Rumors that Disney executives have forced the changes to make the movie more family friendly are also false. According to EW’s sources, there have been no test screenings, and it’s unlikely there ever will be on a Star Wars film.

Looking through that, I noticed one thing I'd like to have explained. And this could just be my over-all lack of in depth knowledge about Star Wars. The "Doesn't believe in the Force" thing. How is this a possibility? I mean, I could understand if the force simply made people feel this way or that, shoot a little better, handle a lightsaber a little better. But, that's not the case, we've seen in many movies how you can use the force to literally throw things around.

I mean I could understand if it's the whole, "The Force is no match for a good Blaster" thing, but how is it emphasized in someone's character that they don't believe in the force? In the Star Wars world, the force is pretty much fact, not myth.

I don't know, like i said, I've seen all the movies, but I'm far from an expanded universe type of person. It just seems like a really odd plot tool to keep bringing up, "Oh this guy doesn't believe in the force, we'll show him."

The universe is a big place. People can come from some backwater outer rim planet that's never seen someone manipulate matter with the Force. This movie also takes place somewhere around 20 years after Order 66 is executed. The facist government attempting to control all of existence has done everything in their power to wipe the Jedi from the history books.

Imagine if all of Australia started yelling about how someone in the outback can move rocks without touching them. There would be a huge swath of the planet that wouldn't believe it without seeing it with their own eyes. Even seeing it some people would be convinced it's just a con.

False. The Jedi were a tiny group to begin with an at the time of Rogue One there are only 2 left. For most of the people in the galaxy is indeed a myth.
