I don't know if it was ever fully private. I know of at least one public boat ramp.

I don't live in the region so my knowledge is limited, but I recall a battle over who would rebuild the dam and replace the ramp because of the restricted public use that the lakefront homeowners had imposed.

I may be remembering wrong, but the fight back then was them saying "nope - we want it rebuilt with taxpayer money, but we're going to continue to restrict your use" and taxpayers saying "nope - if we pay for it, we damn well get to use it".

Could be. I just know of this small county park that has a ramp so they can't completely cut out the public portion. You have to be an HOA member to have property there though.

The satellite view is post dam breach so it is all nice and overgrown with a small little river running through it.
 
Not much to say, but just figured out how to see who has posted how many times and I'm 3 behind 00 with JC just behind me. So now I'm 2 posts behind.
