I don't live in the region so my knowledge is limited, but I recall a battle over who would rebuild the dam and replace the ramp because of the restricted public use that the lakefront homeowners had imposed.
I may be remembering wrong, but the fight back then was them saying "nope - we want it rebuilt with taxpayer money, but we're going to continue to restrict your use" and taxpayers saying "nope - if we pay for it, we damn well get to use it".
I am sure that after that house in Manchester gets through probate that (because of the whitewater park and nearby lake) that it will be worth even much much more! Maybe a dollar, maybe even five dollars more!
Could be. I just know of this small county park that has a ramp so they can't completely cut out the public portion. You have to be an HOA member to have property there though.
