Maybe that Agents of Shield spin-off show that got turned down by ABC could end up on Netflix?

I have a feeling that Inhumans may be dropped from the movie slate altogether and be destined for Netflix - I don't know much about the Inhumans, but that seems better suited for multiple TV seasons rather than 1 or 2 stand-alone movies.

I'd prefer just to drop the spinoff entirely. I'd rather take a little more cautious approach with the idea that everything doesn't have to be a movie or a series. We're getting really close to oversaturating the market already. I'd hate to finish it off too aggressively with a show like that which really doesn't do a ton.

Yeah, I was cool with them dropping that spin-off. Agents of Shield has enough problems in and of itself in attracting viewers, much less if you were to take out two of its best characters. Shoot, Mockingjay is really the only closer to upper-tier comic character that show has as she has been an Avenger in the comics. I was more bummed that they dropped Agent Carter, which I really enjoyed, even though they took a step back in Season 2. What I really liked about it was that it was something to fill in the major historical time gap between WWII and Iron Man 1, particularly with the rich history of SHIELD. There is a ton to still explore there whether it be through Agent Carter or something else. Imagine some type of young Hank Pym/Antman stuff. The Ant-Man prequel comic did explore some of that Hank Pym/Antman history, but I would love to see more.

Good point. I liked Agent Carter, but forgot they cancelled it.

Three series would stretch way too thin. Keeping Carter would have been a really nice thing for universe-building.

Hayley Atwell was already committed to starring in a new ABC show that is coming out later this year, so her availability for a third season of Agent Carter was already in question while they were shooting season 2. It's a bummer, because this move to Netflix can really open up that show: imagine had Agent Carter gone back to NY in Season 3, and spent some time in Hells Kitchen to tie into future events in one of the Defenders episodes.

Post-Civil War, I've been meaning to post my updated MCU rankings with it included. However, after quickly realizing that my full sentiment on the movie was still drastically in flux, I figured I'd give it a week to settle and I'm glad I did. Walking out of the theater, I was was definitely on a high, and if you would have asked me then, I would have said that the ending didn't quite deliver everything I wanted, but still probably would have said best MCU movie yet. I mean, the movie was a blast. With that said, after I let things settle a bit, I found my sentiment of the movie had fallen some to the point where it definitely still falls within the top tier movies (Winter Soldier, Avengers, Iron Man, GOTG), but had already seemingly fallen off its top perch. All said and done, while the movie was maybe the most fun movie yet, balanced so many characters like no movie has done before, and had some of the best character moments in the MCU, its overall plot and story line, while good, wasn't as great as a few of the others, and left a little to be desired. In particular, the buildup in the story was great, but I couldn't help but feel a bit underwhelmed at the delivery and ending to some extent. In the end, you'll see it has finally come in at #3 on my rankings overall, squarely in the top tier, but below Winter Soldier and The Avengers. Man it was a fun movie though and Spider-Man.... Oh, I can't talk enough about Spider-Man :).

  1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier – Thought this movie had the best drama and best writing and story line of all the movies. Its action sequences were probably only second to Civil War as well.
  2. Marvel’s The Avengers – Iconic way to pull everything together with the best villain in the MCU. The final battle was so epic and unlike anything we had ever seen up until that point.
  3. Captain America: Civil War - Most fun and one of the funniest movies on the list. Also produced the best action sequences, had some of the best character moments, and showcased the best balancing act of so many characters. Biggest downfall was having a very good, but not great story line, which kept it from topping my list.
  4. Iron Man – Epic way to start the Universe with an unbelievable star for a headliner. Never got into the Iron Monger villain though.
  5. Guardians of the Galaxy – Best space epic since the original Star Wars movies. Also was probably the funniest movie of the MCU so far
  6. Marvel's Daredevil: Season 2 - The introduction of Jon Bernthal's Punisher in Season 2 was what truly made this season great and better than Season 2. Had a few pacing issues, but overall, the series only improved all the characters within it from Season 1, but I'm still so-so on Electra. Still needs a few more crossovers, but had a few.
  7. Marvel’s Daredevil: Season 1 – Loved the street-level more-adult-themed tone of this show. Also contains probably the second best villain in the MCU. Being on Netflix is a great way to un-cuff all the normal problems of making a TV show for network viewing.
  8. Ant-Man - Had super-low expectations, but walked away pleasantly surprised. Yet another weak villain, but contained some great comedy with some great actors. Paul Rudd won me over when I once was really skeptical of him.
  9. Captain America: The First Avenger – Epic first-half of the movie with Cap’s origin story, but believe it or not, I found Red Skull a little underdeveloped. Loved the WWII time period aspect of this one.
  10. Marvel's Jessica Jones - Series filled with great actors, great drama, good diversity to what we are used to, and one of the best villains in the MCU (Kilgrave). Series suffered most from having probably 3-4 too many episodes, poor pacing, and not enough ties to the overall MCU.
  11. Iron Man 2 – Many will mock me, but I actually really enjoyed this movie and actually enjoyed it more than Iron Man 3. Make fun of me all you want, but I didn’t think Whiplash was that bad. I think this movie gets unfairly criticized.
  12. Avengers: Age of Ultron – Fun movie, but suffered from too much CGI action, too many characters, and too many storylines.
  13. Thor: The Dark World – Criticize me if you will, but I actually liked this movie and thought it got an unfair bad wrap. I didn’t find Malekith that bad and I actually liked this movie more than the original Thor.
  14. Iron Man 3 – Don’t know what it is, but I just never really got into this one, and it probably had something to do with the big Mandarin villain twist towards the end. Also never really liked Killian either. Again, I surprisingly like Iron Man 2 better
  15. Marvel’s Agents of Shield: Season 2 – Liked the less cheese and more serious tone than the first season. Also, loved the Inhuman’s storyline. Used to hate Skye, but now don’t mind her.
  16. Marvel’s Agent Carter – Loved the period timepiece aspect of this. Great show.
  17. Thor – Don’t know what it is, but I just never got into this storyline or villains as much as the others. Again, I surprisingly liked Thor: Dark World more.
  18. The Incredible Hulk – Good movie, but not great. Never was into Norton for the role or the look they gave theHulk, so I was super glad when the switch was made and they remade the Hulk's appearance.
  19. Marvel’s Agents of Shield: Season 1 – Struggled hardcore in the first half-dozen episodes, but then finally picked up when Winter Soldier story line set in and the cheese started to fade. Overall, ended up really enjoying this.
  20. Marvel's Agent Carter: Season 2 - Great actors and characters combined with a poor, stand-alone story which lacked substance and true stakes to the MCU

You'll see above how I threw Captain America: Civil War into my rankings. Now that most reviews are in for the movie, I thought it might be worth noting how the movie ended up shaking out on Rotten Tomatoes as compared to its fellow MCU brethren, so here goes. You'll note that I compiled their rankings based on their average rating score they rate each movie rather than their tomatometer, which is just a like/disliked gauge. However, I have also noted their tomatometer in parenthesis so you can see that too. I think the average rating score is probably more accurate as to how good the movie actually is.

1. Marvel's The Avengers: 8.0/10 (92% liked)
2. Guardians of the Galaxy: 7.8/10 (91% liked)
3. Iron Man: 7.7/10 (94% liked)
4. Captain America: Civil War: 7.6 (90% liked)
5. Captain America: The Winter Soldier: 7.5/10 (89% liked)
6. Iron Man 3: 7.0/10 (79% liked)
7. Captain America: The First Avenger: 6.9/10 (80% liked)
8. Ant-Man: 6.8/10 (80% liked)
9. Thor: 6.7/10 (77% liked)
10. Avengers: Age of Ultron: 6.7/10 (75% liked)
11. Iron Man 2: 6.5/10 (72% liked)
12. Thor: The Dark World: 6.2/10 (67% liked)
13. The Incredible Hulk: 6.2/10 (67% liked)

Take these for what they are worth. Do you agree with Rotten Tomatoes or not?

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 villain (rumored, not confirmed):

JoBlo is reporting that actress Elizabeth Debicki (The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and The Night Manager) will portray the antagonist Ayesha in the sequel. The cosmic being from the comics has also been known as Her, Kismet and Paragon.

Now it's unknown how Ayesha will fit in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, assuming this rumor pans out, or what her origin story might be in the film. The Enclave are behind her creation in the comics, and she has a close connection to another cosmic Marvel character, Adam Warlock.

Just saw Jungle Book last night (directed by Jon Favreau) and all I can say is WOW. One of the best movies I've seen in a long time, and that says a lot for me because:
1. Its a story I already know
2. The whole movie is practically CGI and I'm pretty consistent in my disdain for using too much CGI

With that said, I'm all for doing whatever it takes to get Jon Favreau (directed Iron Man 1 &2) back directing (I know he is involved somewhat in producing) another MCU movie. Shoot, MCU, X-Men Marvel, or DCEU, any of them would be fine. Just give that man another superhero movie. Shoot, I'm willing to forgive and forget any Iron Man 2 misgivings. The dude can still direct.

Check out his other recent one "Chef"

RDJ is in it a smidge and does great. Besides that, the movie is well done. Great cast. Conveniently on Netflix as well.

I like Favreau. There was one movie he did back in the swinger days with Vaughn that was terrible though.

Norman Reedus as a potential future Ghostrider???

http://www.comicbookmovie.com/comic...-norman-reedus-says-f-yeah-to-playing-a142460

I think he could be pretty good in that role. Personally, I'm cool with Ghostrider eventually coming into the mix, but I'd want it pretty far down the road. I believe that a lot of the reason why the MCU has been so successful with such a broad audience is how grounded the world started out with Iron Man before eventually evolving into a much more complex world by gradually adding newer and crazier parts to the world along the way, but at a very slow, gradual pace. Some examples would be super-strength, superpowers, infinity stones, cosmos, nine realms, quantum realm, resurrection, mind-control, Inhumans... etc, and now, the more newer one which is getting thrown into the mix is the supernatural world of magic. While the magical side of things has been hinted at in Daredevil already, it will soon be brought very mainstream when Dr. Strange comes out this year. I believe that if the MCU threw in all these concepts at once, that is a pretty tough pill for anyone outside of the comic book world to swallow. However, when done gradually, the MCU has proven that people are willing to adopt these concepts when fed in small doses. In fact, many of these concepts were only hinted at through multiple movies before they were eventually fully thrown into the mix, which helped as well.

What I'm getting at with this is that Ghostrider, along with quite a few other new Marvel characters would require the adding of the spiritual realm to the equation of the MCU, which is a very big pill to swallow. I think this world could eventually get there, but I'm not sure anytime soon is the time to go that direction.

Finally saw Deadpool last night. I liked it but thought it lacked something. Cant put my finger on it though. The smart *** raw language was predictably amusing. The second rate side kicks were better than I expected. The story just wasn't as engaging I guess. Perhaps thats the point, people **** him off and he wants to kill all of them asap, simple really!
