Yah. I know. And I like how they're hand laying bricks on the Collins median. Who gives a ****? Just pour concrete and get it over with. I try my best to not travel on Collins if I have to. I try to make a U shape from Center Point to Blairs to 1st Ave.

It is certainly a cluster from E Ave to 1st Ave during high traffic times. Wonder how many decades it will take the DOT to raise it and make it a mini freeway (essientially extending the freeway portion from Center Point to 1st Ave). I think the highway 30 four lane project is a good data point that my grand kids may get to see it.

I almost feel like I heard something about that being in serious discussion. Or maybe I dreamt it, since Collins is such a nightmare.

Slept in till 900 this morning. Excuse is I am still fighting off Euro Death Lung and want to bike this afternoon.

Was figuring midmorning paper read and java on the deck but no newspaper. Almost enough to make me go curmudgeon. Missed more paper deliveries in the last six months then in the previous 20 years. When it is delivered it's like a hide and seek game because it's landed about everywhere but the roof.

I was a paperboy for a bit in high school and put a couple on the roof. A couple that I remember...one it was the last house and I didn't have any extra papers so I went home and got a broom to try and get it off, another I had an extra paper and knew it was going to snow heavily later in the day so I left it and the last one I was helping on a large route on a Sunday and of course the printing press broke down. We didn't get the papers until 5 and at the last house around 8 the guy I was with put it on the roof...with the people right inside the door eating breakfast. He politely asked for a broom to get it down.

I got good enough where I usually could just throw it from the sidewalk or a few steps into the grass and nail it in front of the door. Ther of course were the times where I would misjudge it and nail the door pretty hard. I still hate the CR Gazette for their policy of putting the paper wherever the hell you want it. Want it in the door? Sure! In a box? Sure! Really was not that big of a pain but just in front of the door on the driveway drastically increases the efficiency.

Well unless it's a nudist colony I'd start with clothes. :)
Are you going as a senior guy and supervising the person giving the presentation? Can't ever go wrong with shirt and tie. Actually ignore my advice I usually just wing things and hope they work out.
No, more of a meeting to discuss some adjacent services for one of my clients. More of my IT department presenting and coordinating integration with my client's 3rd party vendor. And no, other than Mrs. GTO, I have no one under me.

Bad move. Needed to set them on fire
Good point. It might just crawl out of the garbage. I just killed a black widow spider over the weekend while cleaning my garage and the non-simmetrical web in my shoe leads me to believe this might have been another one.

Had relatives live in New Zealand for a while and spent a good bit of time in Australia. Said that you shook your shoes out every day and stored them upside down (not sure that does much) otherwise you got surprises like funnel web, black widow, and redback spiders.
Where I live I've only seen black widow, brown recluse, some tiny scorpions, and tarantulas. A friend of mine said he found a small rattlesnake in his garage once, but I've never encountered one. Just your run of the mill small garden snake.

And even that's more of a dotted line....

I really enjoyed The Witch. I would have done the ending a bit differently but that's just me. The director did a great job of building tension.

So many people want some sort of comic relief in horror because they say it breaks the tension. I am just the opposite, I want the tension to just build and build. That was one thing about High Tension. Once it started going it just didn't let up.

I have to agree that you see better horror coming from other countries. Even if a decent horror movie gets made some studio latch on and make sequel after sequel of crap.
IE: Nightmare on Elm Street.
They add the comic relief to release the tension, make it more "enjoyable", and make it less depressing. I for one enjoy the occasional depressing horror movie like this one. It was very well shot and you could just "feel" this family's isolation.

It's 2016 and some people are still absolutely clueless about doing even the most basic tasks on a PC.

so remember that time I said someone was setting up an important meeting with our vendor people for when I'm on vacation and I told them, my boss, anyone who would listen, that I would be gone? And person planning it was all blew it off, they'll be done with your stuff by then anyway, it's fine? And my boss and I were like this is bad?

We had a call with the vendor yesterday and they were totally not in love with the fact that I will be gone. Oh you'll be gone? The entire time? Yes, and you've been told (or should have ******* been told!) a long time ago. This is not the first time they've heard this but at least one of them seemed surprised about it.
Because, as predicted by yours truly, they are nowhere near done with my stuff.

I now predict that we will hear excuses how they couldn't get as much done in this meeting as they wanted because CG wasn't available. And my lack of availability is causing them delays. At which point my boss and I may cause physical harm to them.

I booked this in early Feb right after a meeting in which they were saying oh yeah, they'd be done with me by early March. I thought fat chance but decided June gives them three extra months. Plus I had been holding off going on vacation because it was always "oh we're almost ready to work on your part" and now my vacation is about to expire. When this meeting planning started in April and they floated these dates, I tried my best to get it shot down. And every week since then, we've repeated how I will be gone so we need to get as much done with as possible.

This is not my ******* problem.

I don't have enough gifs to display my "**** this" feeling.

Current dude/dudette keeps hitting my hostas and ferns and damaging them. Front yard is really no yard of grass but he has a 7' wide x 12' deep porch and deck landing to hit.

CG gonna have to cancel her vacation.

CG gonna have to cancel her vacation.

another coworker seemed to be feeling out the seriousness of my joke about getting wi-fi on the beach and my boss shot that down so fast. She was like no. CG is on vacation. CG booked this months ago and they were aware that she would be gone.
She pushed back on these dates and had no luck. She is more frustrated with this than I am.

CG's boss is gonna get fired and CG is gonna have to cancel her vacation. DH is going to have to enjoy those bikinis in the back yard instead.

Epic rant.

that's a good boss.

people, like this vendor, can be so rude. there's a certain level of respect of co-workers time and schedule that are often completely missing.

When I was a paperboy for the DMR and a shopper as a kid we couldn't throw it, we had to put it inside the screen door (if they had one) at every house. It adds a lot of time and miles to your route especially if your parents taught you that you don't walk through people's yards but instead walk up their sidewalk.
