There is also this trend of posters to need to BLAME someone/something. It's either the mother/child or the zoo; it's either "the gorilla deserved to die" or "we should have shot the child/mother instead".

Sometimes it seems we go out of our way to take the most polarized stances possible.

I don't think those people are going out of their way, I think it just comes naturally to them. I don't know which is more frightening.
