EgyptAir flight missing

Seems really odd that they heard nothing from the pilots. Nothing about mechanical trouble. Nothing about someone trying to get into the cockpit. Nothing about an explosion. Would a terrorist be able to cut off all communication lines at the same time or before the bomb goes off? Does this point toward the pilots themselves?

If a bomb went off sending the plane into a spin, they probably wouldn't have much hope of communication.

They pretty much proved it was a struggle. They said the plane took a few sharp turns and dropped 10,000 feet. Another pilot who was flying in the same area said that conditions were great and nothing was affecting communications.

another update: a Greek ship spotted some debris off the coast of Crete and the US Navy dispatched some search planes and ships.

I would think the black box would have data of a hardware malfunction if one existed

Could have been one of the pilots, like in the German suicide flight. A pilot would know how to silence communications, and everyone would be locked out of the cockpit.

The odd thing about a struggle is that I had seen reports that they had 3 air marshals on that flight, and only like 60 total passengers. If true, this certainly wouldn't be a good look for anyone that wants to tout the value of an air marshal program.

Doesn't do any good if the terrorist is one of the pilots. It wouldn't be the first time this has happened with Egyptian air.

I suppose if you were holding onto the mic at the time. Otherwise, I would imagine that they would be pulling some major G's and would be all over the place if not strapped in.

It would be quite the coincidence if a bomb went off 10 miles inside the Egyptian border (if reports are true). Strange situation.

Perhaps some physics majors could help. It is/was reported that the plane was lost after just entering Egyptian air space - which I believe is 12 nautical miles out as per international law.

But it's being reported that this debris is some 150 nautical miles off the Egyptian coast?

The news report I watched was claiming terrorism for the same reasons people are here. Over Egypt, the way it went down, etc. They don't have anything other than speculation yet.
