Supper was a piece of watermelon, asparagus, and a piece of rhubarb pie for desert.

Thanks to Rev for posting some weird Al, he is also an underappreciated artist. Did anyone else ever listen to Dr. Demento on Sun nites on the radio? I should google him to see if he is still on.

CG not a runner but I think Boxster's info is about right. I was going to suggest a run either today or Tues. to test the ankle. Good luck and have fun Sat.
I remember the Dr. Demento show. I don't know if I listened to it much but I did once buy a Dr. Demento cassette because it had The Rodeo Song on it.

Cooler-you wanted some hail this morning right?

isn't the weather supposed to be pretty nasty in the KS region today? I was actually reading in the paper yesterday about how the weather service is trying to figure out the right way to warn people. Like with today's weather, they could tell last Thursday things were likely to be bad. But how do you warn people in advance without crying wolf or them having enough warning of a tornado that they leave their safe building and try to outrun it in a car, etc. Was very interesting. They were working with some social media experts to try and figure out the right balance.

did the 3 miles but only got about 1.5 in before ankle started hurting. Found that if I stopped to just rotate it a couple times (and then figured out how to do that mid-stride) it helped quite a bit. Not sure what that means but I'm for sure not running Thursday. This will give me the same gap that led to my fast 4.5 so I'll just go for that and do my normal gym workout tomorrow and try to get my heart rate going. Plus kickball and maybe an abs workout on Thursday.

Years ago I used to work with a guy and if we were working Sunday night he had to listen to Dr. Demento. Some of the music was funny but listening to Demento himself just grates on you. I was always glad when it was over.

They said on the news that schools are canceled in OK because of the threat of tornados.

That seems to go too far.

You should be. If you step it up, they'll let you know that you are what's wrong with the Internet. That's a badge of honor.
I would ask how a thread about Jackson turned into the whole debate about Malou, but then I just remember this is CF in the offseason.

It does seem a bit out there, but I can see it. If there actually is a big threat of tornadoes I can see the logic that you don't want to kids to be trying to leave school if there's going to be a tornado soon. Also, if there was a tornado close to the school, and the school had advance warning tornadoes were likely, too many parents would freak out about it.

Chicks, man...little00's kindergarten class got eggs a few weeks ago, from his teacher's tweet, looks like one will be hatching today. I'm surprisingly excited about this development.

Do you have an ankle brace or anything?

yeah, a velcro wrap thing I got that a few weeks ago and wear it when I run. Actually wore it Sunday too doing landscape stuff. Noticed it started to hurt a bit on Saturday with all the walking and doing stuff on uneven ground.

I'm not sure the exact source of pain you're getting from your ankle so take this with a grain of salt.

I'm gonna be that guy, but I'd play it cautious if I were you. Just be careful you don't do more damage by pushing it this weekend. Know your limits and listen to the pain if it starts getting too severe. Since it's an ankle, it's not a muscle issue that will work itself out after loosening up.

I'm going to add my 2 cents. It seems like you've been nursing it for quite a while now. Did you ever get it checked by a doctor?

Is that the one that all the urban cowboys at HunkyDory's used to shout along with at midnight?
I'm not sure what HunkyDory's is but I would guess the answer is yes. The chorus went:

P/ss me off
F*****g jerks
Get on my nerves

It seemed pretty cool to a mildly rebellious teen-aged JCyclonee and his friends at the time.
