Spotted the signage for this place while at Guru BBQ the other day and decided to do some digging. Looks promising, they are modeling themselves off of the fast-premium model of Chipotle/others who assemble in front of you.

From the article:
Blaze is already at a little bit of an advantage here. For one, they’ve got Lebron James backing them. So there’s that. Blaze Pizza is in full franchise mode right now, with plans to grow 1,000 units by 2022 and maybe even hitting 2,000 units. I mean, that’s some Chipotle **** right there. Maybe even some Starbucks ****.How’s the pizza?: A “pizzasmithâ€￾ (which is a thing, apparently) can cook about 18 pizzas at a time in a gas-fired oven that’s at an insane 800 degrees. The pizza is done in about 180 seconds. Yum.

Went to one of these in Orlando, it was a great deal. You could get a 10" pizza for $7.50 and pick whatever you want for toppings, as many as you wanted for that price.

This kind of pizza chain is just in its infancy. Buffalo wild Wings (PizzaRev) and Chipolte (Pizza Locale) are both trying to enter this space. Both have just a couple restaurants in this space, but plan to expand. Blaze pizza has the most restaurants in this group currently, but I think they are not able to turn a profit. I invested in Buffalo Wild Wings just for this concept alone.

I had one of these open up by my apartment recently, just a locally owned one. I like the concept and the fact that you can get a personal pizza you want quicker then going to a current pizza chain.

I have been to Pie-Five and Blaze. Pie-five can shut their doors anytime wasn't very good. But Blaze was pretty tasty. Look forward their expansion. If memory serves this is a LeBron James investment, not that means anything to us, but interesting.

So it's Papa Murphy's pizza but they bake in the store instead of you taking it home to bake?

That building they are going into is going to be pretty dang popular late-night with Fuzzy's Tacos and Jimmy Johns.

I have been to Pie-Five too in Kansas City, just to try it out. I didn't think it was bad, but the local place by me is closer, so I always go there. I don't think Blaze has made it out to me, but I have been keeping an eye on their stock, since it is the only peer player in the market.

Blaze is great! We have at least one that I know of and frequent down here in Austin. Good, deal, thin crust, cooks in an oven for about 10 min or so after they make it in front of you. Loads of different toppings too.

My kids were all eating theirs with forks since they all insisted on getting every meat topping that was available.

We went to the Pie-Five in Wichita a few times before moving. I thought it was good for what you got and the price. The first time I went was with co-workers right after they opened. It was a nightmare with a line out the door and out of sync employees. The next time we went it was a well oiled machine.

This sounds like the Uncle Maddios we have in South Carolina that went in a few years ago. Its really good at our location at least.

10 minutes seems like a long time for this type of concept. You'd think they'd throw it in a wood fire oven for 3-4 minutes and be done.

Love Blaze Pizza ever since trying it a couple years back in California. Similar concept to MOD Pizza. Both are great.
