Engineers are programmed to look down on everyone especially business majors. It is even worse if you transfer from engineering into business.
Hey everybody, I'm making cookies! I would totally send some to the IRS if I thought that would make my refund come quicker. Not going to happen.![]()

Not aimed at you 15, but when the vesting period question came up, I got curious what my wife's was. She doesn't know, care, and would probably be upset if I even told her info. This is how much she hates financial type things.
IPERS (Iowa's public employee retirement service) had a 16 quarter vestment until 2012. If you weren't vested then, it became 28 quarters. If I graduated college in 09 and had 3 years in ID be ticked. With one year left they added 3 more years to you.
Not to beat a dead horse, but I work for a retirement company. I've taken thousands of calls over the last three years, and I can't think of one where a pension has been immediately vested. Doesn't mean it can't happen, but it certainly isn't the norm. Pensions aren't even that common anymore, most companies just have a 401k with vesting that goes anywhere from immediate to 6 years.
I ask questions on here because I have no one else to ask so I ask the internet. I went back and looked at a few pages of my started threads and didn't think they were humblebrags but clearly yesterday's events say otherwise. I thought I had gotten over that Engineering vs Business major from like 5 years ago but obviously I haven't. I thought CF was a place I could go to but obviously that isn't the case either. I think that the best option is to just step away from CF for a bit.
I respect your honesty though. Thank you.
(Can I also just say a targeted Amex offer is just a piece of mail. That's all it is. Also, I did ask other forums and they scoffed I would even ask with that sign up bonus. Basically no answers at all and I wanted a different opinion)
If you want an experienced opinion on the AMEX card you asked about, here it is. Ain't worth it. If you want to impress your friends, then that's a 450 dollar a year impression fee. Credit cards that charge a fee to have them are not worth the benefits. I use our credit cards for convenience, pay them.off in the grace period. Whatever perks I get, so be it.
Business versus enigeneer thing?? What is that?? I was in the Ag college and everybody thought we were hillbillies and rednecks, but we actually embraced it and didn't care.

I got more hung up on the "completely vested through two internships" thing. I suppose it could happen, but I can't think of a company that would completely vest an intern. Interns are dung, the bottom of the barrel.
I've never seen such weather.
Meh. I figured if that's what he thinks they are, he's been with the wrong girls...
just went to see what you guys were talking about since I didn't figure that was something WDSM decided to just say.
I think the mistake is thinking that poster has been with anyone not named "right hand" or "left hand".
see, 2015 may humblebrag but I'll take that in an instant over "my mommy and daddy give 25,000 a year to the university so I'm so much better than you" type posters.
What about "I just know that overall I'm better than you" posters like myself?
We discuss the Love Canal incident in my In-Situ Remediation class pretty often. My teacher is female and I giggle every time she says it.
