I think we can win with recruits in the 50-150 range, and it's probably a better way to spend our time unless we really have an in with a guy.

I think we can continue to be a consistent top-25 team with guys in this range. Georges, Naz, and Morris were in this group, and MT was in the 40s I think. The great thing about these guys is they have talent and potential but usually stay 3-4 years. I would much rather see us lock down these guys consistently than try to hit homeruns with blue chips and strike out 9/10 times

The key is getting the 50-75 guys, which Morris, Niang and Thomas were. 75-125 usually take some development. Off the top of my head, Diante Garrett, Clayton Custer and SDW were all in that range.

That said, I'm very encouraged with Young's production. It sounds like a guy that was bigger recruit when he was younger who didn't grow as much as scouts envisioned, but the skills are still there. And let's not forget that he's listed at 6'7" 230. It's not like he's 6'4" and projected at the 4. If he could come in and be Calvin Godfrey, I'd be very pleased.

Eh, it's a crapshoot. Some great players come out of that range ready to contribute immediately. You just never know.

Agreed, as long as we focus mostly on the upper end of that range.

In the 2015-16 rotation, IIRC Niang, Thomas, and Burton were all ~50-65; Morris ~90; Nader and Naz 3* 125+, not sure about McKay out of HS. Naz is pretty much the only 3* we've gotten out of HS the last 4 years that didn't transfer out for more playing time.

If end up with teams consisting of mostly 100+ recruits we're going to be missing the NCAA tournament as often as we make it.

Solomon Young, the "gentle giant," had 22 points, 13 rebounds in Friday's OT comeback win over a very tough Folsom High team. Folsom's best player is the 2-time reigning Sac Bee player of the year and signed with St. Mary's.
