I agree. If the kid is leaving why would Kennedy get ******? Not like Prohm is poaching him.

As of right now for a mid year transfer, we could give him a scholarship for the 2nd semester for the 2015-16 school year but we don't have an open scholarship for the 1st semester of the 2016-17 school year.

1.Ashton-RS/Sr 2.Monte-Sr 3.Burton-Sr 4.Thomas-Sr 5. Cooke-RS/Jr 6. Malou-Jr 7. Jackson-Jr 8. Weiler-Babb-RS/So 9. Carter-So 10. Ernst-RS/Fr 11. Lard-Fr 12. J. Long-Fr 13. Young-Fr

Granted Monte could decide to go pro.

Also we could take away Jordan Ashton's scholarship, or he could transfer as an immediately eligible grad transfer to a different school where he could be on scholarship. I see it very unlikely that he stays at Iowa State for next season if he isn't on scholarship. Just my opinion.

That assumes Lard will qualify, Morris stays, and Ashton stays on scholarship.

It's highly unlikely that all three of those things happen. The details around Lard's commitment seem like the coaches are in wait and see mode with him.

I seriously doubt the coaches would pass up a good transfer at this point. I think they would take the transfer, and then work out the spot for Lard this spring.

Ashton is only a JR, would not be an immediate eligible transfer....I don't see him getting any PT next year at this point, and also don't know the rules on scholarships....Prohm said they would re-evaluate Ashton for scholarship again after this year so that makes me think we are not blinded to keep him on and that the spot will likely be used for someone else...

He came as a walk on anyway, correct? So he should be happy he got this year paid for. Any additional semesters on scholarship should just be gravy.

Good luck getting Thomas. Did you read in the article he was now going to lean on his family (and Coach Wes Grandstaff)?

Where did it say that in the article? And why would that mean we are out?

Does Prohm have a bad relationship with Wes Grandstaff? If not, we must be against families.

Always say I am wrong at some point everyday. Glad I got it out of the way early this morning ! Thanks for clarifying.

He would be a great transfer but have to assume he is going to be highly recruited.

Probably, but hopefully we aren't going to concede highly recruited transfers going forward. We are ranked in the top 5. IMO, we shouldn't classify guys who aren't able to start at Texas A&M as unattainable.

I doubt grudges are ever held, but we were close on him twice and he turned us down both times. Not sure why, if we weren't good enough the first two times, he'd like us again.

So, that part of me says we are not going to go after him...however...

Speculation was that he was going to Michigan before his visit to Ohio State.

I'm assuming Michigan will likely be on his list of schools he can't transfer to.

So that part of me thinks it could be possible.
