Anyone else rooting for Nebraska for the first time ever?

Yeah! Why anybody would be excited for their favorite team playing for a national championship is beyond me.

Me? I'm very stoic regardless of wins or losses. Heck, I only smiled on my wedding day to look good in pictures.
If you don't know your team or the teams in top 10 fighting to get a place in the playoffs how can you say that they should be there?

Deep down I think this is probably right. But for Iowa to lose their chance at the CFP in a loss to the Huskers is just the kind of human drama that will make people watch, despite their general feelings of ill will in both directions.

I said this is another thread but Iowa losing to Nebraska and winning in Indy to keep the B1G out of the CFP would be pretty great. Unfortunately Nebraska isn't good so I don't see it happening

Never.

But an outcome where Nebraska wins on a blown call and Iowa gets a Big 10 apology letter for their trophy case would be sweet.

I'm cheering for Iowa to go 13-0. Then we'll really see how good they are and who knows. Why not?

I grew up an Iowa fan and have way too many people I care about who are Iowa fans to not want them to have a chance at something special.

Plus if any of you ever lived in Nebraska you'd know it's a very easy decision to cheer for Iowa over the Huskers. A vitual nano second easy decision if you ever lived in both states.

I will be cheering for nebraska, but not because they're playing Iowa. I cheer for Nebraska all the time, as my wife and her family are from there, and I have grown to like them especially since they moved to the big 10. Not all fans are douches.

That said, there is not a college team other than the cyclones that I'm a diehard for. I'll cheer for NE, but won't be too upset or happy regardless of the outcome. I don't actively root against any college teams. Professional baseball and football...that's another matter.

I think if Iowa beats Nebraska, they've got a great shot at getting to the National Championship as long as Clemson gets past North Carolina. I think MSU is incredibly beatable, especially for the Hawkeye defense. If they stay at #4 and Clemson stays at #1, Iowa takes the upset in my eyes. I really don't think Clemson is that great, and I'm a Notre Dame fan. It might sound crazy, but it is absolutely the most cakewalk path to the National Championship you will ever see.

Whoever the Big Ten champ is will be a huge wild card in the CFP assuming they get it. If my life depended on it I'd feel safer having $ on ND than any of the Big Ten possibilities.

Call me crazy but i cant see them getting past Michigan state or Clemson

I think you can hate the hawks if you want (I dont) but you shouldnt every root for the huskers, ever. For me it's like your annoying little brother is in a fight with the ****** bag neighbor kid everyone hates. You maybe can't stand your little brother but no way can you root for him to get pounded, in fact you have their back. Every hawk fan I knew would root for ISU vs. Nebraska even the guys that always rooted for ISU to lose. I hope they **** pound the huskers.

As an Irish fan I'd agree...if they didn't have so many damn injuries.

I don't like betting against MSU in any sport (especially Basketball), however, if Iowa can get past them they'll get past Clemson. If anyone has played an easier schedule than Iowa in relation to their ranking, it's Clemson. I'll be surprised if they get past North Carolina and ol Gene.

LOL this is a Cyclone message board. Why would we stay quiet here?

The poster I responded to was upset about the idea of real live people being excited about Iowa's success.

I just really don't understand that. At all. Why would somebody else's joy make you angry?

So just what are the odds of a meteor falling on Lincoln Nebraska on a Friday in November. These two teams are both so lucky it probably wouldn't happen, even if the odds were probable.
