Interesting that he thanked President Geoffrey, but not President Leath. Hmmm.

I wouldnt read into that. Geoffrey was most likely pivotal in helping him get the opportunity to be a head coach here. Leath wasnt here.

As I listen to this press conference, I think of Jimmy Carter. A great great man and PERSON, but in the great power position, it didn't work out, he was overwhelmed and in my opinion, wasn't good enough to accomplish what needs to be done in this situation. He should have never been a head coach of a power five conference team, for this many years that I feel strongly for sure. BUT.....BUT.....I see him having success down the road, in a position that suits his strengths. Good luck, Paul. I honestly wish he would have been let go, 1-2 years ago, but no matter what, he got it done, early on, and will have a successful future, somewhere.

That damn Kansas State game is going to be seared into a lot of memories for a long time. As soon as the vampire retires I hope we make it a priority to squash them back to KU levels in football.

I would. I hope Leath has a plan. Something tells me he doesn't and is just operating off the cuff however.

It's a damn shame, couple less fumbles, couple made kicks, this wouldn't be happening.

The Messingham hire really hurt him a lot, never really recovered from that. That and the inability to recruit a lights out QB in time.

Great guy, damn shame.

Have to love everything about the man. Just too bad he made a few bad choices that cost him wins.

Or just misspoke/left out - would be easy to do in the circumstances.

Or something more...I'm too soft & naive about these things. Maybe he felt Leath was 'rooting against him' to hire his own guy. Anyway, I'll assume just the former.

i think there are some good things about leath, but I still don't trust him. Part of it is certainly because I don't trust the board of regents that hired him.

I I do like that he appears to be committed to athletics. And he's willing to spend money

Snyder's coaching had a helping hand in getting KSU back in the game Saturday. He had little to do with the actual win, and neither did KSU really. They needed the opponent to completely meltdown for about 90 seconds of game time to even have a chance to win.

I think the KU game in 2005 has now been replaced at the top of the heap of 'Worst moments in ISU football'. It would definitely be there if something like a bowl game/7th win were on the line Saturday.
