Let's have a serious discussion about CPR

With people posting thinking we are only going to win between 2 and 5 games, what are your thoughts about keeping CPR if that happens? Personally I'm of the belief that if we don't make a bowl game coach needs to go. We appear to be better this year than last which is a plus. How long is everyone willing to put up with sub .500 records before feeling a change is needed?

He needed to go last year. Unfortunately JP made a dumb move and signed him to a contract we may not be able to afford to buy out. Looks like we are stuck with CPR for a few more tears.

.....sigh......

If I were the AD I'd be looking at the 6 win mark. But I'm not. I suspect the guy who is the AD is looking at the 4 win mark.

What are his plans for the offense and replacing Wally (should he retire)?

CPR could have worked out had he made better decisions on what type of offense to go with and hiring a staff that was proficient in teaching it.

Can we see how the rest of the season goes before saying we should fire Rhodes? Sure hes on the hot seat, but one game, albeit losing to your rival doesn't make or break a season.

Also, we don't know how Iowa's season will be. In the wide open division that is the Big10 West, they may very well end up in Indy.

And at that point...I'd probably have to root for them to beat Ohio State.

Are you serious with this?

What the hell does any of this have to do with CPR?

If the mark is 4 then we need to fire JP. I don't expect us to go to a bowl every year but I also shouldn't be expected to pay to watch losing football year after year. I wonder how much longer it'll be before fans stop showing up.

He needs to have a sense of urgency and do what it takes to go down fighting. This offense is a dumpster fire and if it means major in season changes in scheme and philosophy, then he and the rest of the staff should do it. Be as bold as they were switching from the 4-3 to the 3-4. Paul and Mangino are probably OK off from a financial standpoint, but some of these other assts. are not set for life and are going to pay the price if there isn't real progress this year. You have to feel for those guys and their families. I wanted Rhoads to be our Hayden Fry/Bill Snyder. All evidence says he probably won't be. Right now, basically hoping for a miracle to turn this thing around. Would love to eat crow in November. After five wins in two years, I just don't see how you stick with the same program if there's a repeat performance this year.

If that happens. Next year I will openly root for whoever ISU is playing till CPR is fired.

What's funny is that this probably was a typo, and yet is still true.

With their schedule anything is possible, but if they do end up in Indy another humiliating loss will bring hawk fans back down to reality the way USC did in the Orange Bowl a decade or so ago.
