Our local vet's sign out front says "toenail clipping survivor meetings held here." That really fits for my dog.

also got the title switched over on a car, got my custom plates picked up and put them on so now I actually have a car!

Der Hund is also overly dramatic about that...nail trimming involves him on his back, me sitting over him with the dremel, a muzzle, and Mrs00 holding his head still so he doesn't thrash.

*edit: And congrats on the car! Just look out for Mr. Cowgirl this winter...hate to get your first car totalled up there in Madison.

Thanks! And I'll make sure to keep my head on a swivel. Though I'm actually not sure how much I'll be driving except when I come home.

and Cowgirl: sort of, I had it be WOOPIPR since I learned the bagpipes at wooster. Though I did sign up for a different board under wooclone15 so my name is slowly spreading across the internet

edit: and I just used regular county plates. The Iowa state plates look really cool, but I wasn't sure if I wanted them since I'm not an alum

Those of you with kids. Did you go on a vacation when your kids were in the 1-3 age range? If so where did you go and what did you do?

Camping and more camping. One trip from Manhattan KS to Texas for Christmas with extended family. We were too broke to do much more than that.

Darn it, Humphrey Bogarts Sahara just started on Turner Classic Movies. Decent WWII movie almost nobody has heard of. Now I may have to stay up till 1:00.

We went to Milwaukee for a weekend with little00 when he was probably a little under 1. Just saw the city, hung out. Also flew to AZ to see the in-laws when he was 6 months-ish, and then again when he was 18 months. I think just be able to be flexible to his needs, and allow some extra time for dealing with stuff.

Denver to see the rellies - Went to zoo, saw the city and basically hung out with rellies.

Orlando - The youngest (about 9 months at the time) stayed home with Grandma. The middle one was about 3. The oldest one was about 5. Went to Disney World and Cocoa Beach.

My recommendations, other than stuff already stated, are to give them plenty of time to swim and, if they can't get in their afternoon nap, be sure to give them some quiet time and a snack that will fill them up. Bring a backpack to carry snacks, drinks, various distractions and souvenirs.

Otherwise, what 00 said about planning on extra time and being flexible is probably the best advice.
