usually I hear about jobs failing from DH on the IT side of things. But I deal with it a bit here too. I usually have no idea how to fix it though because I don't do code. But she found the error - which didn't make a lot of sense to her and we couldn't get access to the right log files to learn more - and I read it and figured it's probably a goddamn tiny little formatting thing in one of the Excel files we use. Even though it ran fine last month. Whatever, I changed like four things in that file and now it runs again. We'll figure out which of the four it was later.

To make it simpler, I'm gonna assume you're also a prostitute.

Spoken like a true IT person there, though.

but unlike IT people, we really will ;) Well, maybe not. I think I decided I'm fine just using the new format and we'll go with that. Probably will try to figure out what it was to make sure it's not linked to any other issue. I was more concerned about getting the program started again than figuring out which of the few tiny changes made it happy again. Just as long as it was happy!

I mean, I didn't even make the dreadful mistake of saving something as an .xls instead of .csv this time!

...and finish it off with some nerd joke that nobody gets.

My wife doesn't eat leftovers so it is up to me to eat them. We plan our meals so we really only have left over producing meals 1-2 times a week.

I've been so used to feeding two, that now Z's a bottomless pit I am thrown off on meal count. For example, Tacos used to be three meal times and now they are two. Or guessing how many veggies or snacks you would need.

apparently coding program thingies really hate excel. And I am a person who thinks of .xls and .csv as basically interchangeable. When things come crashing down, someone with a Ph.D in number things kindly explains that no, they are not and if I'm saving something to be read in by the program, it can't be evil .xls. That was the first thing I checked this time and nope, I didn't make that mistake!

is there nobody science/data-y here? I thought GTO was, but apparently he is a liberal arts major like Pants too. :jimlad:

I've spent my day (and haven't left yet) trying to get a data room cooled off since temp alarms are going off. Thankfully, we have convinced vendor to come in and fix it tonight.

I have made so many phone calls in-between setting things up, and making sure everyone was on the same page.

Also, if I didn't need to exercise at noon today I would have stayed in. Traffic was as bad as I thought it would be.

Our dumpster was already overflowing at 8AM. I wonder when is the least likely student shopping time on Saturday or Sunday for those that have just moved in.

One student at Subway said that she had already had to move out and her apartment wasn't available on time and won't be until Monday.

 I got it...

there, finally! Essentially some teeeeeeeeeeeeny things may have been wrong in one of those csv files that gets read in (but does not do vital things for the program - I don't get why it just doesn't skip if it finds an issue) and I fixed them and away we went.

But we don't know for sure why it was a problem this week, since it ran fine with those things unchanged a few weeks ago.
