Random Thoughts IV

Second friend from college in two days has announced the impending arrival of their second child. One couple has been married a year longer, one couple a year less.

Though I suppose this actually makes it seven college friends now on at least #2.

Don't feel bad. Most of our age range friends have 6-14 year olds. The plus side is that they will have already been through stuff and can offer advice and suggestions.

I still bathe and wear deodorant! I just don't douse myself in false pheromones.
Curiosity question here. As a single guy, what time do you typically shower on weekends? I know when I was single it was way more likely for me to shower after 3 than before 10.

Also, remember, you and the other young, single dudes are heroes to all of us old, married men. We live vicariously through you. Rock on young, single dudes!

Note: Don't mind the pinhole you see in your shower. It is probably just a flaw in the tile.

It's usually no later than 10 for me. I work out every night, so I don't want to spend all day smelling funky, even if I'm just going to have a lazy, lounge day.

that's true. I wonder if by the time we have kids our contemporary group of parents will be former (hopefully) Bieber fans who don't know what "the Rachel" is.

Who showers before 10 am on the weekend? Unless you have somewhere to go/do

Probably 10:30-11:00 when I was at school. But I got up fairly early and I feel dirty if I don't shower in the morning

I was 29, husband 32 when first baby born. We seemed to fit in with the other parents in birthing class. However, with each successive child we felt older and older. Sister-in-law was 40 when her youngest was born and someone admired her "granddaughter." So relieved that didn't happen to me on the last baby. It is weird with youngest kid, some of the other parents of kids in his class young enough to be my kids.

The one place we felt young was when we went to parents' weekend for our oldest when he started college at one of those prestigious brainiac schools. My husband looked at me and said, wow, you realize we are younger than most of these people? And so many of the parents had only had one child. We were also definitely the low income end of the bunch. When we met one of our son's friends and his parents, found out the dad was US Ambassador to a country. They must have admitted our son for "diversity." And I suppose the 36 ACT didn't hurt, but all the other kids there had similar.

For real. I usually shower around 11am-12pm on weekends, unless there's something I have to do early in the morning, which there usually isn't because sleeping in is wonderful.

If I'm not doing anything? 10-11 am. Depends on what time I've woken up. Lately even in free weekends I'm up by 630 or 7 so I'll be out by 9 or so to run errands before the crowds get out.

I never could stand to go much past noon without a shower.

This was definitely my wife's feelings before we were married. It seemed like she would sleep in forever. Of course we were in separate beds because, premarital stuff and my 70 something parents could be on CF right now.

Side note: When my parents got an iPhone I asked my dad how he liked it. He replied, "It's great except we can't figure out how to dial with it, text with it, check emails or use the internet." I'm probably safe on CF.
