had the interview today. Said they'd call Monday for possibly a 2nd interview with a different person at the company. Not sure how to take that. Hoping for the best I guess.

Did they give you the name of the second person?

Generally it's a positive thing if they're giving you a time frame and being pretty specific. If I have no intentions to hire someone, I just thank them for their time, tell them I'll review everything and that I'll give them a call if I determine they'll be a right fit for the team.

Yes.They'd say that he would probably call Monday and it's possible that if it goes well I'll sign paperwork and start by next week. He asked when I was available to start working so that's good. I wish they would have given me the job today, that's why I'm not terribly confident but we'll see.

Yes, name starts with a D. They'd say that he would probably call Monday and it's possible that if it goes well I'll sign paperwork and start by next week. A second interview is a good sign. I've had a couple and have been offered the job both times and one was during the second interw. You got this.

I don't have a 2nd interview quite yet, they just said that a different guy would be calling me on Monday. I'm taking it as a bad thing until they call me back.

Just got a really ****** off text from my SIL about not responding to an earlier text (there was no question in that text, nor was it something that I thought even needed a response)

backstory alert:
- She's shown up 4 hours late to holiday meals smelling like weed.
- She's borrowed money from us and never paid it back.
- She's filed for bankruptcy, yet lives in a larger house, has newer cars and has a husband that has worked maybe 2 collective months in the 16 years I've known him
- She's completely missed my daughter's birthday (she has 2 ******* nieces) but still manages to try to berate my wife if we don't call every couple weeks to see how her daughter is doing
- We have not missed one of her daughter's band performances or class musicals
- She has shown up half an hour late to 2 of the 3 of my daughter's performances (which last about 45 minutes)
- She has not been to one of my daughter's gymnastic performances or soccer games in well over a year

I'm REALLY having a hard time not lashing back right now

Don't...take it as an 'unknown' until they call you back...will make for a much better weekend.

I'm not saying the job is yours, but, as an employer, I see no reason for any of these signs to not give you confidence.

ummmmm...yay for good drugs?

Breathe. Write out a response on your computer or on paper. Say everything you want to say. Wait a half hour. Make revisions. Wait another half hour. Delete the response on your computer (or throw away the paper copy). Text your sister: I was busy when you texted and didn't have time to respond right away. Was there something you needed?

You're probably just meeting with their financial guy to see if they can afford you. I'd demand a signing bonus. I can be your agent if you'd like. My commission is steep, but fair.

I know this seems hard to believe based on my posting history, but I'm usually very good wording things diplomatically even when I'm upset.

I've exchanged a few texts with her and defused the SIL bomb. I'm the Jack Bauer of our family when the in-laws are concerned.

Kind of on the garage sale thing...

I have a co-worker who goes to the estate auctions, buys stuff, and then turns around and sells it on eBay. For instance, she bought a ziploc bag of what I guess would be handstitched handkerchiefs. I think she said she paid $6 for 5-10 of them. Guess how much she sold them for?

$80

my wife shows me all the time things of pinterest that people are selling on etsy. The prices people charge and that people actually pay is ridiculous.

Listened to John Walters interview of Coach Prohm. He said the bank here wouldn't cash an out-of-state check for him, and some woman he had seen who works at "the rec center" overheard and said just to write it to her and she would cash it.:biglaugh: Gives me a vision of some student who checks out equipment or lifeguards bailing out the $1.5 million coach.

He just said it doesn't matter which party is president, the big corporations own them and call the shots, and that's why he's supporting what he feels is an honest person like Donald Trump.

He's a close friend, but how can I NOT argue that?!

The wasn't meant to be cave-y about any party. But if your concern is big corporations, trump is literally the last candidate in any party that you should be supporting.
