NBA: *** Official 2015 NBA Playoffs Thread ***

I didn't say Malone wasn't any good then, I simply said him and Stockton didn't suddenly get better at that time, the rest of the conference just got worse. And you're pretty much backing up my point with the bolded sentence.

They are top 20 players in league history. By "not getting better" you're saying they are totally awesome and in the same breath implying the Bulls got off easy only having to dispatch one of the most productive trios of players in NBA history in the Finals twice.

You would parse this stuff until you whittled MJ's accomplishments down to zilch.

I'm saying they are top 20 players of all time.

You are saying their production was about the same as the rest of their top-20-of-all-time careers those two years, but it was really easy for the Bulls to dispatch two top 20 players of all time that tied the Bulls for top record. It's ludicrous, the silliest re-painting of Jordan years you've attempted yet.

Teams in the West had no problem doing just that the previous ten years, must have been the emergence of Greg Foster or Howard Eisely that pushed them over the edge.

This pretty much backs up what I've been saying, both of those Utah teams are in the bottom half with the '98 squad real close to the bottom. Malone and Stockton were extremely good, like they had been for a long time, their supporting cast wasn't good. The Jazz didn't suddenly improve in those two years, the rest of their conference fell off.

Some footage of '97-'99 Malone from the years he wasn't very good as he won MVP twice and made the Finals twice. Apologies for the quality of the video but it is exclusively of how $hi++y he was those few seasons so very appropriate. Notice how he's always the biggest and strongest player on the floor but still out leading fast breaks, so worthless as MVP, Bulls really could sleepwalk to easy championships taking this chump down these years.

Hakeem sucks even worse than Malone then and he has two rings.

You would whittle it down until your boy LBJ is the only legendary player to ever lace up shoes.

It's crazy how he was so bad before that time and then suddenly became great, really an unbelievable transformation, how did he not win Most Improved Player?

Straw man arguments are fun!

He was always good. Stockton was always good. Barkley was always good. Hakeem was always good. Drexler was always good. Peyton was always good. David Robinson was always good. They couldn't all play in the finals every year and they all played in the west. Man you can be dense when you are in LBJ-wood mode making up nonsense to try to discredit MJ.

The mid 90's West was the pinnacle of professional basketball, Larry Bird wouldn't have a single ring if he had to face those squads.

You're the one saying hall of famers (and even a top 10 and top 20 player) who don't make the finals aren't that good the years they don't make it. I'm getting a real kick out of your gigantic revisionist history.

As a Bulls fan the only Finals they made I was ever actually worried about were vs the Jazz and it wasn't because those Bulls teams weren't good.

By your own ridiculous criteria, the Spurs big trio are all arthritic old men with dentures wearing Depends and LeBron got his jock handed to him by a couple young kids last year in the Finals. I know that's not true, but that's the kind of nonsense you are building up.

Every single one of your arguments turns into a strawman in about three posts. The Jazz played in a really bad division Western Conference, a 36 win Clipper team made the playoffs, an under .500 Timberwolves team was a six seed, four teams in their division didn't even win 25 games. They had a poor supporting cast, Malone and Stockton weren't any better these two years than they were any of the previous five. These are all facts. You can twist them into as many strawman arguments as you want, but the Jazz, despite winning 64 and 62 games, weren't particularly great teams. The 538 article I linked shows this too. But I'm sure whoever put that together was just a LeBron fan too and twisted those numbers to mess with people like you.

Bovada has a made free throws over/under line of 7.5 for him (-135 over), they don't have one for just attempts though.

That's it? Man, if I was a gambler I'd take the over in a heartbeat. I think Lebron is going to attack the basket every time he touches the ball tonight and get to the line for at least twelve attempts.

You convinced me, Jordan never played anybody good in the Finals.

Malone was better than Barkley, Peyton, Drexler and Magic...and you convinced me Malone wasn't very good when he won MVP and had a 64 win team.

Anybody can find stats to support whatever they want, I could too if I had as fanatical dreamy eyes for one player as you do. The thing is if you think MJ is the best you don't really need to all the silly nonsense you do, his stats, PER and winning speak for themselves.

LBJ could be the same some day, for now enjoy your silliness of saying Karl Malone wasn't any good the year they voted him MVP over MJ and he made the finals with a 64 win team.

Link to where I said that? I'm not the one saying Malone sucked before he made Finals, that is a ridiculous argument.

Also, it's Gary PAyton.

Also, love this line. Having a total lack of self awareness is a great quality.

Forget LJ vs. MJ. I want to see who ends up the winner between HFCS and CyJack13. Where can I place my bet?

Well since you didn't even make this epic matchup, we know you are no good as a poster per CyJack.

In before correcting grammar is part of the argument...

Edit: too late!

Yes, I've truly been slain now.

I like how I have no objectivity because I don't dismiss a top ten player of all time in his MVP year. That's how ludicrous CyJack is.

Depends on if you think HFCS had a tougher path to get here or if CyJack13 has the poorer supporting cast.
