They are top 20 players in league history. By "not getting better" you're saying they are totally awesome and in the same breath implying the Bulls got off easy only having to dispatch one of the most productive trios of players in NBA history in the Finals twice.

You would parse this stuff until you whittled MJ's accomplishments down to zilch.

Teams in the West had no problem doing just that the previous ten years, must have been the emergence of Greg Foster or Howard Eisely that pushed them over the edge.

Malone and Stockton were extremely good, like they had been for a long time, their supporting cast wasn't good. The Jazz didn't suddenly improve in those two years, the rest of their conference fell off.

Notice how he's always the biggest and strongest player on the floor but still out leading fast breaks, so worthless as MVP, Bulls really could sleepwalk to easy championships taking this chump down these years.

He was always good. Stockton was always good. Barkley was always good. Hakeem was always good. Drexler was always good. Peyton was always good. David Robinson was always good. You can twist them into as many strawman arguments as you want, but the Jazz, despite winning 64 and 62 games, weren't particularly great teams. The 538 article I linked shows this too.
