Brought to you by our friends at Buffalo Wild Wings in Ankeny and Ames, here is installment No. 1 of the Cyclone Fanatic Podcast Summer Series.

Today, Brent Blum joins me to break down our five favorite games in Iowa State history. Of course, we add some honorable mention notes and our favorite side stories as well.

This is an in-depth podcast that is nearly an hour and a half long. It's literally two guys sitting around a bar, drinking beer and talking Cyclones.

What if moment: Georges Charge/Block is called charge, Kansas loses game and Big 12 Title with KSU (they tied)

I won't be able to make it through the full podcast after a 12-hour work day, but love the topic and discussion so far.

I'll have to wait another day or so to do a break down of your breakdown.

This makes me so happy....... so fun and so many wonderful memories!!!

LOVED the Podcast CW and BB, it was enormously entertaining and enjoyed getting refreshed on some of the great games in recent-ish Cyclone history. The best part was both of you recalling the OKST-ISU football game. I will never forget watching that game from the student section wearing a green morphsuit on ESPN and rushing onto the field with 55,000 other fans. Unreal.

Blum mentions a '96 game, CW refers to it as "old school." Blum calls 2000 UCLA game "one for the old-timers."

Whippersnappers!

Good 'cast. A few surprising choices. Possibly could've separated it into 2 parts, with lists for football and basketball.

Great podcast guys. I'll add the "Streaker Game" to the honorable mention section. It might predate you guys (1993)but I was a kid, and it was one of my favorite memories. 1993 - freezing cold - K-State came in ranked and was up 17-6 going into the 4th quarter. Then the streaker ran on the field and completely changed momentum. It was one of the few good memories from the Walden years. As a bonus, check out Walden's tantrum at the 1 minute mark...Classic!

That '96 Big 8 championship would definitely be in my top 2. I remember Willoughby's bomb from deep late shot clock near the end of the game.

I really enjoyed this since my ISU memories begin in probably 1997.

Two games that stand out to me, one more so on a personal level, and another that I thinks gets forgotten a bit.

August 31, 1995 - I was in 3rd grade at the time and it is the first game I remember attending. Troy Davis ran for 291 and 3 touchdowns as we erased a 21-12 4th quarter deficit and beat Ohio 36-21. I remember it being a Thursday night and it was the first time I remember the excitement of being a Cyclone Fan.

Another 4th quarter comeback, November 20, 2004 at Kansas State - Trailing, 23-9 in the 4th quarter, we scored 28 unanswered, including 3 touchdowns in the final 3 minutes to secure the win in Manhattan. It gave us the opportunity to play Missouri the next week for the Big XII North title, but we all know how that turned out. This 4th quarter comeback was one of the craziest things I remember watching:

IIRC we (the students) tore down the goal posts that game. Everyone crowded around the North endzone for some reason and had security pulling 1 or 2 guys down while the rest of the police waved us off the field...then someone realized that the South endzone was left unprotected, so we ran down and tore that goal post down, carried it out of the stadium, walked it up Lincoln Way, and dumped it in Lake Laverne.

I forgot about that. Announcer with the classic line, "There's a guy with a big ego!"
