This is why this all makes perfect sense if Fred's ultimate goal ISN'T an HC job, it's a GM job.
I watched about the last 5 minutes of the Golden State - Houston game last night. I watched Stephen Curry make a few nice plays and walk over to the crowd gesturing to rain their praise down upon him. Hey congrats kid... you knocked down a jump shot like a million other basketball players have done. For the most part Curry seems like a really nice kid but watching that shows that even guys like him can be corrupted into the "It's all about me NBA mentality". Me... I prefer not to watch that crap.
This. Coaching is hard on the ticker. While a GM job would be hugely stressful, the high and lows are more subdued than coaching. Perhaps Fred would rather be an AD than a GM?
The big thing in all of this is that Fred likely doesn't care much for the NCAA in general and the NBA in whatever capacity is way more his style. How about that for stating the obvious.
How is that different than Kane walking over to the crowd and flexing after an and 1?
The whole "quality of play" statement cracks me up. So ****ing what? I'm not from Chicago but I am from Iowa and went to ISU. Why should IGAF? I'd much rather go to Austin and see ISU/UT than go to Chicago to see Bucks/Bulls.
It's like telling a Huskers fan that the KC Chiefs are better at football. Well, no ****.

Yes... a last second buzzer beater to put a game into OT or for the win I can understand. Hitting a jumper with 5 minutes to go in the game and acting like you just did something extraordinary is a bit much.
For the guy that mentioned Kane... I wasn't always a fan of this theatrics. He complained to the refs a bit too much, he celebrated a bit too much, etc... Don't get me wrong the guy was a great player but that is the junk you see in the NBA which drives people crazy. I should feel sorry for Lebron because he didn't get a call? A guy that makes millions of dollars playing a game... and he wants us to feel sorry for him... to feel his pain... really? No thanks.
I honestly don't think Fred believes that this is hurting ISU all that much..we as fans are freaking out because we want answers right now and equate the lack of knowing what is going on as hurting our program..it's only been a week or so folks and it's still May. Fred probably thinks that another week or two isn't going to matter squat with recruits and ISU. It's not like any of our 2016 targets have announced yet..heck most have just started narrowing down their lists from 10 to 5. Now if we are sitting right here in a month or two with nothing happening then yea I can see everyone's point. This will all be over one way or another within a week or two. Blame the Bulls and the media for this frenzy not Fred. He's done nothing wrong. It's the biggest decision of his and his families life...if it takes a week or two to figure stuff out then so be it.
Yep, Bulls fans are just seeing Fred as a user, until he can get the GM he wants.......and then he start working on being the commissioner,.......... and then he can work on being an owner.
The problem as I see it is that recruits are looking at a four year commitment. No one is going to want to sign on with a coach who is pretty certain to be gone after their freshman year. If Fred says he will pass on the Bulls and wait a year for the T Wolves we are going to go two years with no recruits. We're already seeing this with the '15 and 16 classes.
