Officer got shot and died in Omaha today. Knew who she was. Looks like I've got a funeral to go to in the next couple of days. Also had a Nebraska assistant soccer coach die on the interstate a couple miles away from me. Been a very weird/somber week around here.

Crazy. I still have never been to a funeral and only been to 1 wedding (other than my own) in my whole life. Going to my 2nd wedding next week. I either need more friends or everyone I know are Highlanders.

I'm 38 and the only one I should have gone to, but was unable to, was my grandfather's. That man was like my father when I was young. Sad now.

So for S's and G's I pulled a CG and recorded myself singing and playing the guitar last night. Listened to it today. Apparently there's a valid reason why I was kicked out of choir my junior year.

I was once really high at the one in Ames and it was 5 minutes to close and they gave me the whole tray of cookies to take home. By take home I mean eat as I walked home. Only time I was glad.

Just read that the Omaha officer had a baby (assuming a preemie) that had been in the hospital since Feb 17 and was set to finally go home tomorrow. Prayers to her family and to those who knew her.
