Malia (or some variant of spelling) feels like it's one of the most coming female names over here. I had 6 employees that either had that name or had kids with that name.

I first remember hearing the name when a friend of mine was talking about surfer Malia Jones. Then I heard it in Maui during our honeymoon and the name kinda stuck with me. I figured it was probably more common there, but I haven't heard it very frequently around the Midwest.

I'm glad we ended up with what we did. I couldn't imagine her with a different name.

also Google the name if you are choosing something more out there. Heard someone on the radio say a friend wanted to name their daughter Mirena not realizing that's also a name for a common IUD. Probably want to not go with that name then!

You also want to make sure your little princess isn't named after a really popular adult actress.

My internet addiction is like crack for my inner sloth. I need to get outside and clean up all of the hail induced vegetation debris. It's kind of a mess out there.

Boxster: Must sweep and bag.
Sloth: But newspaper
Boxster: Must cleanup.
Soth: But coffee.
Boxster: Must sweep up and rake!
Sloth: But internet.
Boxster: But mostly sunny and 66!
Sloth: But CF RT!!!
Boxster: **** off sloth!

Sloth love Chunk?

That doesn't even have any nickname possibilities. Just awful. Have to go by the middle name and constantly have to deal with it.

They tried getting people to go with "Centa" for a while. Just stupid. The grandma insisted on calling her Gracie since the middle name is Grace and now everyone else is, including the idiot parents. Seems like all of my husband's childhood friends are just weird people. Although the guy is now on his second wife, trophy version with a 31 year age difference.

At least they didn't go with Afterbirth.

One more "name-themed" post and I'm done.

Isn't it weird when you come across someone that just doesn't look like their name? I know it's just because I associate certain names with people I know, but I'm kinda surprised it doesn't happen more often. I know about 5 different Dans and they don't look anything alike, but they still look like a Dan. But I know this one dude named Brandon and I just can't seem to match his name to his appearance. He looks like a Mark or a Mike or something. Am I alone on this?

Also, those families that have all of their kids' names starting with the same letter feels cult-ish to me. "Hi, I'm James, this is my wife Jenny and our kids Julie, Jonathon, Jackson, Jessica and Jason." I'm not drinking any koolaid at that house.

Any of you Ames folks tried wandering the halls of Mary Greeley to try and find Papa Lew for a KC update?

It might be a lost cause with the new wing and the construction going on. It's confusing there unless you want the labor ward. That's still the easiest to find.

Everybody in my generation on both sides of my parents in my immediate family (siblings and first cousins) all start with J. Except me.

Was feeling satisfied with my spinach salad lunch, read Cybirdy's post, now I want cookies.

This happens to me after nearly every Birdy post.

Speaking of names, Coke has brought the name labels back for summer. Surprisingly, I only found my name once last year. Saw Hayden today
I've never seen my name on a Coke can (and likely never will). But you guys let me know if you see a Georgios can. I'll buy it from you.
