That actually makes sense. You can give Cubs fans crap every once in a while but you actually seem to care about your own team more than you hate the Cubs.

That actually makes sense. You can give Cubs fans crap every once in a while but you actually seem to care about your own team more than you hate the Cubs.
I think a lot of people mistake all the media hype for expectations of Cubs fans. Sure there are some unrealistic Cubs fans flying down the rails on the hype train hammering blue and red kool aid but most of us realize making the playoffs is probably a year or two away. We finally have reason to be optimistic and can reasonably expect progress and thats good enough for me at the time.
And Im sure you already know, but I like to mess with people. Most of my comments are just to have some fun and get people worked up.
Just like the vast majority of Cardinals fans, and unlike an earlier post of yours that generalized STL fans as getting preachy and d-baggy towards the Cubs. There really hasn't been much of a reason for STL fans to think about the Cubs at all recently. (Not being a jerk, just the way it is, like with Oklahoma fans thinking about Iowa State football.) The BodeClone fan contingent is miniscule.
Yeah, it's probably a vocal minority. Sorry. There's at least one post in every Cubs related thread on here from a Cards fan saying how much we all suck or asking why we root for a team who sucks. So that skews the perspective a bit.
Hey I said just get to the playoffs which is definitely doable the next couple years. You definitely won't hear me make any series predctions anytime soon. Or ever for that matter. I wouldn't predict the Cubs to play in the WS even if they won the NLCS. I'm fairly confident the apocalypse would happen the day before game 1.
The reason I'm having fun in this thread is because the Cubs are actually good this year and will continue to get better. Wouldn't dream of cracking a joke with them in 2012 or 13.
