ISU #11 in new AP Poll.

The idea that losing @KU will put us behind UNI and/or Wich State is hilarious.

We play a game the caliber of WSUvsUNI at least once a week...WSU really sticks out like a sore thumb as the team in the ratings without any impressive wins. Seton Hall at home is their top win, and then it's a big drop off. Their next best is beating Alabama by 1 at home. WSU has played two ranked teams and George Washington 0-3.

I'd have had WSU around 20 all season and still now. UNI maybe just in front of them most of the year, but you can tell either of them will just keep moving up as they beat Evansville and Drake.

UNI will likely leapfrog us in the rankings soon. I'd accept that now if I were you. We have some tough games ahead. Them....not so much.

Colorado State
Dayton
Tulsa
Stephen F. Austin
Louisiana Tech
Murray State
Rhode Island
Valparaiso

Teams that are receiving more votes than Iowa.

ISU is ranked 11th in the country and this is what you get out of that poll? I don't get this obsession with Iowa, how about we just enjoy the Cyclones?

They might temporarily jump us, but they will lose to a nobody and be penalized heavy for it.

Texas still being ranked is a joke. I am not sure they even make the ncaa tourney at this point.

Keep losing to middle tier teams on the road and this becomes reality... They have lots of tough games remaining on the road (already done with @TT and @TCU). However, their remaining home games should be wins and get them into the tourney. They will be relying heavily on winning the ISU game in Austin simply so they have Top 25 win on their resume.

Wisconsin and UNI are in similar situations - very good teams who reside in weak conferences. They are both in great shape for a high seed because nobody in their conference is strong enough to give them much competition.

Wisconsin is to Big 10 basketball what Ohio State is to Big 10 football.

UNI's ceiling is top 5 just because of teams losing ahead of them. That's the way the AP poll works. Luckily the committee doesn't care about that and they'll be lucky to get above a 5 seed.

3 seed territory is just fine by me. Keep it rolling tonight - winning this conference is more important than our ranking. The ranking will take care of itself if we keep winning.

win the conference and we are not worse than a 2 seed.

To everyone freaking out about how UNI may/may not jump ISU in the polls. Calm down. As a diehard UNI fan I can say with 99% certainty that UNI will lose a game they aren't supposed to between now and the season finale at Wichita State. Heck, it might even be tomorrow night at Indiana State. Greg Lansing seems to have Ben Jacobson's number. A loss like that will drop UNI far enough down the polls that they would have a very hard time getting back in the Top 15 the rest of the season.

Yep, UNI will be the top mid major outside Gonzaga this year if things break their way.

Texas is being helped by the good RPI status of Big 12 teams right now. All seven of Texas' losses are to teams RPI #41 or better (Kansas #1, Kentucky #2, Iowa State #12, Baylor #15, Oklahoma #24, Stanford #31 and Okie State #41). Problem is their only top 100 wins are West Virginia #19, Iowa #51 and Long Beach State#66. WOOF.

I get what you're saying, but seeing that Ohio State just won the National Championship, I think Wisconsin (or anyone else) would gladly take that comparison.
