Suh Suspended for First Playoff Game

The first step is not intentional. The second step is, especially when you pick up your first step and put all your weight into the second step. Not, to mention Suh doesn't even acknowledge anything about the incident. All he had to do was turn around and act like it was an accident/look apologetic, and this is a non-issue.

true...but I'd carefully add that the rules are a little different now as well. Favre got hit more and CBs had a more physical style of play. Rodgers may be a better passer but I'd take Favre in an old-school FB game over Rodgers any day.

Favre could win you games but he could also lose them for you. Rodgers turns the ball over WAY less.

No QB for the 80's and 90's has anything statistically on today's QB's. It's a passing league with the rules set up to allow for monster numbers from a QB. Look at the top QB ratings of all time. 95% of them are from the last 8 years.

Hell, Favre's best statistical season was his first year with the Vikings. He had weeks of practice with them and was old as dirt (40 years old) but his numbers were insane. Why? Because the league now protects the QB's and WR's going over the middle where that wasn't always the case.

you're not wrong...there is no doubt Suh didn't get the benefit of the doubt...but discipline should be administered with objectivity, in as much as it can be done, when broad sweeping reasons such as "violation of safety-related playing rules" are being used. I'd have rather they suspended him for being a **** and continuing to act like a ****...at least it would have been more legit. :spinny:

This^^^^^^^

When I watched the first replay during the game I could not believe he did not get flagged! Watch how he bounces up a little on the second step to get all his weight up on the leg. Penalty is deserved, he knew exactly what he was doing.

I disagree that the second step was unnecessary. The OL guy was holding his shirt and Suh was leaning back off balance when the guy released it causing him to step back. We all saw Suh deliberately stop on somebody in the past, so I know he is not above this. But I disagree that this was something malicious. All that said, again, I have no issue with this *** bag being suspended.
 
No question Suh knew what he was doing. Give him a nice fine and move on. Keeping Suh out of the playoff game is the NFL going over the top again. They screwed up the Ray Rice situation so bad that we'll see over reactions for some time until somebody figures out that Capt. Roger should have gone down the road.

Amazing. I thought I'd get at least 5 or 6 posts into this thread before seeing something ridiculous like this. It has nothing to do with Rodgers or anyone other than Suh and how big of a pos he is.

Im not saying the second step with his left foot was unnecessary. What was unnecessary was for him to lift his right foot putting all his weight onto his left foot. He definitely was not off balance when his right foot was planted on the ground and his left foot went back. He could of simply just picked his left foot up off of Rodgers ankle while keeping his right foot planted.

Because fining him seems to get the message across.
 
It was pretty obvious that there was intent to try to injure Rodgers there.

The suspension has nothing to do with Rodgers and everything to with Suh's reputation.

As much as I hate to say it, Favre was better if for no other reason than he wasn't a constant whiner like Rodgers. Favre would have jumped up and taken a poke at Suh. He was more of a football player and less of a poster-boy.

It's football...**** happens...and you can't make precedent-setting decisions based on someone's reputation, which is what I believe the NFL did. Show me definitive intent in this, sans Suh's rep, and I'll concede. Otherwise, I agree that it was kowtowing to the GB and Rodgers fan base.

It was definitely intentional. First step very well could have been accidental, but the second with his full weight was not. You don't just step on something on a football field without knowing it. Anyone saying it was no big deal needs to have that 300|+ fat *** step on their leg. Then we'll see if it is a big deal.
 
As a Lions fan I really hope this is the last piece that convinces them to not resign Suh in the off season. Use that money to pick up a decent QB.
