Utter and complete domination...and it hurts all the more because of how much fun it is from a pure basketball sense watching Iowa State play under Fred Hoiberg. Envious? Yes. I hope everyone stays healthy this year.

See you next year.

Posting on here tonight? That's a Georges Niang move, so respect for that :)

Iowa is not as bad as they looked tonight and I'm not sure Iowa State is as good as they looked tonight. There are wins to be had in the Big 10, but the Iowa team in the second half looked a lot like the Iowa team that mailed it in at the end of last year.

One thing that is very, very clear though. Hoiberg is the superior coach. I told my Dad tonight that I might feel a tiny bit sorry for Mad Fran. He is clearly (and deservedly) in the shadow of Hoiberg at this point. And it will take more than one bad Iowa State year for him to get out of it.

Is there a reason you think Fran doesn't play Gabe more? What am I missing?

I just think his offense is a bit of a liability against better teams. For Iowa, this is easy; it's all about the guards...and we've known that since missing out on Ulis last year. The college game is mostly all about the guards.

Your team is built like a team that can get to the Final Four, and that is not just me saying that because you beat Iowa. I believe it.

I think Gabe should be starting over Woodbury. Especially for a team that struggles to score. But as I've been saying all year, you have no guard play, so it's tough to win.

That's reasonable. Mainly what I think about with him is his defense.

I think Iowa State is pretty close to as good as they were tonight. Sure, they played great. But they were down BDJ, too. I really look forward to seeing how you play against Texas..I think their bigs will give you all you want, and if their guards are healthy at that time, it should be a can't miss game.

I hope you don't get put on the same side of the bracket as Kentucky...as long as you don't, shoot, the finals are not out of the discussion. Texas will be a great litmus test.

Iowa is a bad team at feeding the post. Even then, they dont have a player good enough to consistently do things at the post. Heck, I would have been working to post up Uthoff all night. Fred is phenomenal at finding the advantages and working on them. Fran, I have not seen that.

But yeah, it's the guards...and most of the other stuff is moot at that point.

iowa looks to be a basketcase of confidence right now. I said it in the game thread, when ISU was on that run in the second, nobody from iowa looked to even want the ball. Much less take the shot.

It wasn't even as if it was disorganized. It was just deer in the headlights kind of panic

I honestly think if Jok played more, Iowa would see a drastic improvement with him. Same with Olecheni. Both are pretty athletic, and show signs of being pretty decent players.

Not trying to be hard on you but didn't you say missing out on Ulis wasn't a big deal?

Marble was good, just wasn't clutch, to think this years team was better than last is foolish...unc win was big though as long as you don't go into a big slide I think you will make the dance

Iowa a solid group of players but no one that plays with any fire. Fred's guys want the ball all the time, they know they can make a play. Call it confidence, arrogance whatever you want. It works.

Why don't they post 2 guys up at once? White seems to live at the 3 point line when they are running their sets.[/QUOTE

he literally tries to get fouled every time he touches the ball, drives me crazy, how do you ever get into a rhythm playing like that?

Dickerson? And for those Hawks who say they won't miss Marble......yeah.....you do.
