I can't go back and read my exact post since the thread is in mod-land but most of what I said was made as a joke - including the part about my brother driving him around. He'd be far more likely to be annoyed at the multitude of comments about his capabilities/driving skills since then.
I feel like I need a smiley or something in here to indicate that I'm not being mad, but some of the choices then seem passive aggressive.

speaking of my ill boy, haven't heard from him in 2.5 hours. I'm hoping he's sleeping but I want to check on him before I leave for the gym in case he wants 7-Up or something. But I don't want to wake him if he's asleep. Maybe I'll wait til 4.
I hope DH feels better soon, CG. And yes, trust me on the duct tape. I've had those fabric walls. Scotch tape doesn't hole well at all. You'll be continually re-taping it (and searching for it under your desk first).
Luke warm 7-up was always what we got when throwing up and we needed to stay hydrated when I was a kid growing up. Haven't really used it since. I didn't realize many other people had ever heard of that.
gah, have to jump through flaming hoops to get access to supplies. But I may have to try.
that and saltines were what we always had. We do have some Squirt which is pretty similar. He was just going to try water for a while, I think.
and on cue he asks me to get him some 7-up. Poor baby. How do you handle your kids being sick? DH is a full grown adult and I just want to go tuck him in to bed. Has to be terrible when it's a little kid or baby.
Yup. Momma gave us 7up & saltines, I did the same with my boys. In fact, nibbling veeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrryyyyyy slowly on a saltine was my defense against morning sickness. Did the trick for me.
Squirt is more like Dew than 7up. Sprite is a good substitute, tho. Think clear, not cloudy.
poor guy gets his wisdom teeth out Friday. Between the two, he may find the most effective diet ever, lol. I think I promised to take him out/bring him as much ice cream as he did for me so that might help.

ha, that is SO my brothers when they get sick. Cold? They must be dying. DH rarely gets sick enough to make a fuss over. Didn't miss a day of high school and I think he's taken.......well, with today it's 2.5 sick days in over 3 years. And one he still worked, just from a hospital bed. He went home early once and when I got home (and bought a thermometer) he had like a 103.5 fever! I was like WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY YOU WERE THIS SICK? Never did figure out what that was. Though he did have one man flu moment today when he texted to say nothing was on tv.
I don't do well when I have a cold, so I'd like to be the woman in that picture, but I'm more like the guy. They go straight to my throat and I can't sleep. Can't take cold medicine so I usually end up taking off one day to try and force myself to sleep.

I won't disagree with this. Although I usually know my limits and think that it is better if I actually do rest and make sure I get well as quickly as possible. Mrs. Velo is so worried on the rare occasions that she is sick that things won't all go according to her master plan so she pushes herself, is even more miserable and I believe delays her recovery.
What a terrible sentence - but I don't care enough to fix it.
yeah there's no sense in being superperson if it makes you more worn out in the end and you take longer to recover.
My professional opinion says to shave it all off then. It's better to look like you have a baby face because you're clean shaven than to look like you have a baby face because you can't grow facial hair everywhere.
The shaving of the upper lip only gives me an Amish vibe.
But, as I said, I'm not the one boning him. As long as you like it, it's all moot.
I must be the only guy that doesn't get needy if I'm sick. The ONLY thing I want is to be completely left alone. When I was married I would sleep on the couch or in the guest room is sick, because I don't even want anyone touching me.

Next day, not so much. And if you throw up in the shower, no matter how drunk you are, don't wait until the next morning to clean it up.

I don't get needy and I will likely go to work one day when I shouldn't but if I have determined I am truly sick, I'm getting in bed (unless I absolutely have to do something for the kids) and sleeping until I get well. I'm not asking for a bunch of stuff, but I'm not contributing much either.
