Good move. It was getting to be a lot of negatives with no positives, and I was debating whether to point that out. Well done, 00. :)

I think it just defaults on a weird base. Like, guys always rag on other guys they're friends with. We rag on him like that here, but it's through a third party. So it does definitely come across as much harsher than it's meant to be, I think.

yeah sometimes (and not pointing specifically to you and 00) it comes across a little less light-heartedly and since DH isn't here to give people ****, I'm a little bit less ok with it.

Though now he's running a fever so do I officially win the stomach bug vs. bad chicken argument? I think I win, DH. Now if I could get him to eat something :(

So yeah, I mean it more as a ribbing and I agree with 00, I apologize for when it comes off as meaner than that.

I still stand by my opinion on the chin beard though.

I agree...and guy to guy doesn't bother me in the slightest, unless it gets excessively misogynistic. But with this default, you're just putting CG in an awkward position (and any of us females, if our hubs were the target) of wanting to "be one of the guys" but yet feeling a loyalty to defend spouse in his absence. If DH is like PapaLew, he would give back as good as he got...in fact, I think he did at one point. :)

And CG, still no winner in the battle with DH...but fluids fluids fluids, even more than food. Chicken soup...nm, scratch that...thin soups would be good.

Guys! They're filming Hawaii 5-0 literally right in front of my house. Like, I may be on the show seen asking a cop how I'm supposed to get into my parking lot.

Not so fast...according to the internets, food poisoning can cause a fever:

to be sure, you're going to need a stool sample.

I think you nailed it. All that elder experience  I don't want anyone to feel like I'm going to be miffed if someone says something less than 100% rainbows and unicorns about DH, but like KC said, it was getting to be a lot of negatives. Though I have to admit that right now he's very much a pitifully adorable DH and not quite manly, capable DH that I'm used to.

Tried noodle soup and he managed to stir it twice. I did force a cracker down him and he ate two bites of applesauce. Most of a bottle of 7UP. See if the pills break the fever at all and make him feel a bit better. Boy just needs some Redbull.

No, I will not actually do that.

And you're excited for kids?

hahaha, you know last summer when relatives came to visit with niece, she was all sick and got sick in the car on the drive back from dinner. couldn't grab a paper towel fast enough so I used my hands to try and catch most of it. Now, the thought of it now makes me feel like doing what DH has been doing all day, but in the moment, I was like whatever, I'm taking care of this, my hands will wash. I can't quite muster up the same "must be done" to get a stool sample from DH. I could hand him the container or something maybe.

I don't even have a gif to describe my face right now. You have knocked me gif-less.

oh, and I'm just going to say that I'm right. No way that chicken was bad. Plus I've heard other people getting this shiz in the past week.

Well, that's kind of alluding to my comment of 'that's not who I want to be.'...because of my past and some effective, but bad coping skills I've developed, I've become a bit of an expert at seeing someone's weakness and exploiting it *just enough* that they get the understanding that I'm not the one they want to engage intellectually, but most of the time not enough that I'm a complete jerk...but that also means that I have been very successful at keeping pretty much everyone except my wife at arm's length. Too successful, and I'm working to stop it IRL, just need to work on it here, too.

I once threw up on my Aunt at Sea World from too much sun.

she didn't just hang you over the side of something? Niece was in the middle carseat of a moving vehicle on a four lane. I mean, if I could have, I'd have been moving her to somewhere better, lol. Your Aunt must have really loved you.
