Z decided to start walking on her own black Friday. Now over a week later she's getting a little faster. ....

"Welcome to Toddler Life" ?

they just oust keep going from there. ;) Our last has never wanted to be contained. Walked at 9mo, hate sitting in carts, now wants to walk in parking lots and in stores. Just yesterday she figured out how to climb up the kitchen stools (barstool height). Used to be able to put things out of reach on the counter. She figured out how to reach them.

I think I've mentioned this before, but it amazes me every year how having a beard affects people's instant perception of me.

In the summer, with no beard, I'm just an average late 30's guy. Not unattractive, but no model, and I generally draw very little reaction either way no matter what I'm wearing or whether I'm carrying my son.

In the winter with a beard, I go out by myself with a carhartt coat on and wrap around sunglasses and I'm getting the "sorry, sir..excuse me, sir...let me get out of your way, sir" and then I go out with the kiddos or whole family with a nice wool coat on holding my son and suddenly I'm getting the "how you doin'" smile from a bunch of women.

I shaved mine today. The girls in the office say it takes about 15 years off me.

I have a beard today. Two weeks ago I didn't. Tomorrow I might not. I think I look older that dirt with or without the beard.

Depends on how much gray/white is in your beard compared to your hair color. If your beard is significantly grayer than the hair on your head, you're going to look a lot older.

My dad, I don't think' realized just how much whiter his beard was than his hair until he was watching an in-house produced video highlighting the work his IT team was doing. They did an over-the-shoulder shot while he was at the computer, and you could see how white his beard was nearer his temple/ears. Less than a week later, he was clean shaven. (And it was 10+ years since he was that) It may have only lasted six months because of maintenance and he liked his sleep.

Mine is pretty significantly more, but I've got a decent amount of white in the hair on my head.

Getting real tired of hospitals. Hopefully only five more hours for a few months.
