Walking Dead

I thought Beth's death was more for shock value, than an actual plot development that made sense. Not any real reason for her to do what she did and get herself killed. Kind of a poor ending to this half season which has been very good.

It was SO contrived yet made no real sense for what was actually going down in the hallway. Jeez if you are going to lead us on for multiple episodes than come up with something better written and directed than this.

Sunday nights suck for TV and it's an evening I am looking for something to watch so I'll tune back in but am starting to wonder why because this thing is just going to meander around for years without any resolution, just hype for the next "shocker".

i haven't been excited about WD for two seasons. I don't know if the writers are just lazy or they don't know what they're doing but the show feels stale far too often to get the ratings it does. i didn't mind Beth's death scene. I thought it fit the episode. Andrea's death scene was one of the most terribly-written scenes I've ever seen.

I like Walking Dead, and at times lately it has been real good. But the writing generally has not been on par with the other top Sunday night dramas on AMC and HBO. Writing is inconsistent I would say, though I think overall it has improved substantially since the earlier seasons.

The show is just a bit flat. The hospital/cop storyline was not as interesting as it could've been.

When Beth said to Dawn, "Now I understand". I still did not understand Dawn. Did you support her decision, not support them. Was she right, wrong? Why did she request Noah back? That just didn't make sense to me. If she was concerned about their proposal, why not make a legitimate pitch for them to join, open a discussion of ideas to change that hospital for the better? The arc was strange but always goes back to the same thing, you can't trust people. People are more dangerous than the walkers.

Beth said she "understood" Dawn at that point because Dawn was using the Noah ploy to mask her weakness to the others at the hospital. She wanted them to see her as strong by not allowing Rick's group to gain the upper hand or break even in the trade-off. It went back to how Beth and Dawn had the conversation about Dawn always having others doing her dirty work and keeping the appearance of power and strength among her people.

I love me some Walking Dead, but man, to they leave a lot of untapped potential. This show has the ability/potential to be as good/dark/complete as The Dark Knight but I just feel like they miss a lot. I hate that it is only an hour long and feel a lot gets left out that effects the story. I really enjoy Rick's character a lot, wish Tyrese would develop some more like other characters, same goes for Glenn.

The first half of the season was ok, I hope they go a different direction for the second half. It almost felt like they were dragging their feet through these episodes. I will still watch, I just find myself wanting something different/ more important.

I would imagine that The Walking Dead will end when the zombie craze ends… I don't think that will be for quite a while though.

Once it starts spreading itself too thin (when the spinoff gets going), people will start to lose interest. I think the new show will be good for a season, then it will start to repeat themes we've already seen. The viewer numbers can only increase so much before you reach the saturation point. Everything that's popular has a peak and begins a decline at some point, usually when audiences have had enough. It's clearly not to that point yet, but moving towards it. The key is figuring out when you're about to out-stay your welcome and sign off appropriately with a meaningful ending.

Speaking of the Zombie Craze, anyone here seen Z Nation? It's actually a pretty good B Movie version of the Walking Dead.

I got around to watching the finale, sucks to see Beth go but the cast is too big and it needs to trim some of the fat.

I also got around to finishing the 4th ep of the 2nd season of the Walking Dead Telltale game. Everything's gone to hell. I made a bunch of Russians mad and I think I got everyone in my group killed.
