Hawkeye Trolls

For all the Hawkeye Trolls out there.

38 versus 78.

Just amazing how many Hawkeyes I have seen on boards, comment sections, etc. completely bashing Pollard and ISU regarding JP's comments. Shouldn't be surprised I guess.

To be fair, there are many fans who don't care about Director's Cup since many aren't popular. The problem is that many of these fans are inconsistent with the sports to follow. I would buy it if they just stuck to football and/or MBB, however many will cherry pick other Olympic sports "that no one cares about" to boast about their school.

So in Iowa's case, I have no problem when they stick to football and/or MBB, however I found over the years they'll conveniently drop MBB (when they suck) or add WBB or wrestling or another Olympic sport, then state, "No one cares about Olympic sports" for the Director's Cup.

In my case, I like Director's Cup as I'm an alumn and support my school. Also, it adds fire to those who talk about ISU's athletics as garbage, solely based on our football or typical discounting ISU.

If you really want to make Iowa look bad, pull up each of their sport team's finish in the Big 10 last year. Across the conference, they're the worst athletic department.

They're ranked #1 in Moped Racing.

Good points.

I also think their obsession with trolling and commenting on ISU athletics to be very telling.

I have trouble being too upset about their trolling and commenting on ISU when we've created an entire thread to talking about our respective Director's Cup ranks when we are 3 weeks removed from having played them. I think it's fair to say the obsession goes both ways...

While Directors Cup standings are great, and as a Cyclone I am thrilled with where we are (Its a go to with hawkeyes during back and forths), the real standings, unfortunately, are bank accounts. And and we do not compare very well.

So Iowa has the worst Athletic Department in terms of on field/court success in their conference (and worse than us) but they are better because they make more money?

Wait, does men's bball matter this year or not too? I keep getting confused as their opinion always seems to depend on the year. I've found the only true gauge for that is to look at bobblhead giveaway and free tickets with the purchase of a soda figures. There seems to be an inverse correlation there as when those numbers go up, bball seems to not count.

I also find this entertaining to keep up with. 4-5 years ago they were UNI fans when basketball rolled around. Then there were a couple years where it was like basketball didn't exist to them. Then all the sudden it was U-N-who, & Iowa was the ****!

Will be interesting to see how they treat this year.

Ha, I've even come across some Iowa fans who said they respect Hoiberg and his teams are fun to watch; although, tough for them to admit.
