I think the the biggest thing for me is I think this hurts Hoiberg's Street cred a bit. (not that he we won't be completely fine. It just makes it easier to say we just had 2 guys get drafted last year alone)
Guys are flocking to him because they say he knows how to get them to the next level.
We just had the Big12 POY and newcomer of the year go undrafted.
So I hope they can make it somewhere undrafted.

If I understand this right a 2nd round Draft Pick doesn't get a contract anyway? The team just owns his draft rights? meaning he either gets let go, signed or traded to someone else before he gets a contract.

So in some cases a free agent may work out better.

One of the main reasons Kane was so good last year was because how strong he was, a big reason for that is because he's five-six years older than a lot of the guys he was playing against. Take away his strength advantage, and he has a questionable shot and sloppy ball handling skills at times. People on here saying he would have got minutes in the Finals this year are crazy. He was a terrific college player and I still think he has a good chance of eventually catching on with someone but he's more likely than not going to be a guy that's fighting year to year to stay in the league rather than a guy who is going to be a solid rotation/sixth man type of guy.

His shooting improved a lot during the season. He still had more turnovers than he wanted. Standing next to Monte, he had a lot of turnovers. That said, he will have his chance this summer with someone. Kanew will be around longer than the Cape Verde project. Sometimes the second round is only a throw away choice as teams already have a full roster and can get free agents of known quality. Two rounds is not many. It has been more in the past. Four UCLA choices in first round tells me their coach was crap last year.

Not a chance. Look at a guy like Diante Garrett. I've had season tickets for a long time, and during his first 3 years at ISU, I didn't think he stood a chance at making the NBA.
He doesn't get drafted, only plays 1 year for Fred, and now is getting some good minutes in the NBA with a shot to stick it out for a few more years and make some money.
Fred has more than enough cred.

Since the year 2000, ISU has had 7 players drafted. 4 of which were first rounders. Iowa has had 2. Neither of which went in the first round. Please Hawk fans, tell us more about your NBA factory in Iowa City. Actually, tell you what. Go to the Kentucky boards and rub it in their faces.

I can't speak for others, but for me it has nothing to do with respect of ISU. It's just stupidity to me, though I can understand "Ejim is undersized" talks. I'm just as confused about guys like Patric Young and CJ Fair not being drafted while some others were as guys like Kane.

I am surprised how many 6-10 200 pounders were drafted from overseas. Outside of Dirk, who has been a game changer? Maybe Ginobli and not Rubio. Wow, they can pass nicely and what a lovely set shot from outside. The second round is a throw away choice. I consider Canadians playing in US as not overseas.

Babb and DG stuck with it and made it, if even one among Kane and Ejim does that's a pretty good story in itself. Tyrus is really scoring the ball in Spain too and may have an outside chance some day.

Our fans better get used to it because Niang could dominate the NCAA the next two years and face the same thing, although seeing him getting in better shape perhaps changes things slightly. If McKay has anywhere near the accolades Kane and Ejim did he'd be drafted. Morris has the potential, especially hearing he's up to 172 lbs already. Heck if Tsalmpouris adds a little weight he could be drafted given that he's already shooting the international range 3 at age 17…and also 7'1" at 17.

I have questions about some of these overseas people playing forward or center. Any of them better than an Omar Asik? Ejim is probably faster than any of them and actually shoots well from outside.

That's it, he shoots the ball like an NBA 3, which can't be said of some of the guys taken last night at that position, but the rest of it is a big question mark.

But we went through the exact same thing with Diante, Will, Babb and now Ejim and Kane. All of those were projected as second round draft picks.

What people don't realize is that about 200 players are projected for the 30 second round picks.

I guess this is why I don't like or care to watch the NBA. At least they play some defense now as opposed to 10 years ago. So Kane is 25 yrs old but drafting some Brazilian guy who is at least 2 yrs away from being 2 yrs out. In other words they drafted somebody whom they have no idea what kind of player he might be. Guess this is why I will continue not watching or caring unless some ISU guys are playing.

I always thought it was a very small chance that either Ejim or Kane get drafted. The doesn't mean they can't make a roster though. Although I think Ejim is a long shot.
This is why I said earlier about BDJ that I don't know why he didn't just go pro bc his stock is not going to improve being another year older. Good for ISU he didn't though.

Agree with all except both stuffing a stat sheet, I don't remember Marble flirting with a triple double in half of his Big Ten games or being a dangerous rebound or assist guy like Kane was practically every night…but at the same time it's not as valuable in a shooting guard as a point or combo.
