As a side note, how is it that an entity whose only job is to cover the weather be so terrible at all things related to covering the weather? Weather channel website and app both suck so many balls.

Nope. Wife and kids sleeping in basement. I'm up watching 13 because of what's yet to come.

I mean, if you look at the radar, it looks like it'll be storming all night. No idea how bad they'll be but there's been a few tornado warnings in the cells heading our way.

It didn't seem like that much rain in Ankeny, but there is a lot of standing water in the field behind my house.

I've got an inch and a half on my deck.

This is why I only use weather.gov. NOAA & NWS are leaps and bounds better than TWC.

I didn't watch the coverage on other channels, but I refuse to believe any local station's coverage comes close to WHO.

Just checked the gauge, and this storm that just came through dumped about 1/2 inch of rain at our house, which is just north of Hy-Vee on Ankeny Blvd.

Lots of reports of damage around Lake Panorama, so that would make sense.

Just north of you and got the same. Came in a hurry. Probably 15 mins. Nice little river flowing through park behind our house
