I can't make it to the game so I was wondering if it will be televised by Cyclones.TV? The schedule on Cyclones.com only mentions audio. If not, any chance they replay it later? Does anyone remember how they did it last year?

I thought I watched it two years or so ago on my iPad when it was raining. I could be mistaken.

Don't really understand why they wouldn't put this on Cyclones.TV. What other programming is there for April? Hell, I'd flip them $10 for the month to sit back and watch the game on my laptop next weekend.

The only conceivable reasons I can come up with would be broadcasting costs are too high or the coaching staff wants to keep it as secretive as possible - which doesn't make much sense, it's a vanilla scrimmage, who's going to take any information off of that they don't already know?

It doesn't draw much of a crowd and it's very dull to those who aren't going (including me).
There isn't much of a market clamoring to see this thing online or on TV.

Still, with the complete lack of content there is for the channel, being the offseason of most all major college sports, they'd want SOME fresh content to put on there. The spring game is as good as any.

Plenty of universities do this already, even Kansas I believe.

Which is one of the reasons we will never have a "major" football program until people care enough. All my friends who went to SEC/large southern schools watch their team's Spring Game online/TV or go to them. We don't even show up despite people claiming to be "football deprived" in April...Want our Spring Game to eventually be picked up by Cyclones TV or someone else? Grab a friend/family member and go to the game.

16,000 & 15,000 for Iowa and Iowa State is pretty pathetic for teams who get really good support for most of the Fall.

It's gonna be in the 60s with little to no chance of rain. If you are an Iowa State fan and don't have anything earth shatteringly more important I would say get your butt to Ames.

Nothing to do with the spring game but it sucks that they don't do high lights of spring practices on cyclonestv like they used too.

I enjoyed those and it got me ready for football more.

Probably more of a market then those looking to watch a women's softball game. It's April for a school that doesn't have baseball, what else is taking up the bandwidth?

Is there? I don't hear anybody talking football out there. We don't even talk it here. It takes a full day or so for a football thread to cross 50 posts.
If we're not getting excited here for football, I doubt demand is real high in the rest of Iowa.

They've got a few up from the last couple practices.

Similar to McD bball days. Need to win to get excitement.

I think that the idea of broadcasting the spring game if more people went to the game is backwards. If I where the athletic department I would make sure that the largest revenue sport got some exposure in the Spring.

We're still all in basketball mode (probably rightfully so, too).

I'm 1,000+ miles east of Ames. I would like to see it. I'd figure the marginal cost of putting it online (they have to be filming it alright, right?) for stream or VOD would be basically $0, right?

cyclones.tv sucks now that you have to watch a stupid microsuck commericial before every video. Should make it free with that crap.

First and fore most we will never be a "Major" program. I live about 4 mins from JTS and I will maybe go. The spring game is boring as hell. I get to see practices whenever I choose to and its no different than the Spring game. Meh.
