Big10 off to a great start....

The b1G has 3 legit good teams, I don't really have a problem with them hyping Wisky, MSU and Michigan but I'm pretty sure there were talking heads telling us that Iowa and tOSU were final four teams not too long ago. The ESPN analyst are on par with weathermen when it comes to accuracy.

If they weren't in the big ten iowa and tOSU would have got kstate level hype. It's plain idiotic they were ranked ahead of Oklahoma and Texas all season.

Because there are 68 teams in the tournament, not 64. That is why. It is not a play-in game even though people refer to it as one. It is a tournament game.

Its not an equal tournament game unless 60 teams get a win on their record for the bye round.

So did we get 4 wins in the Big 12 tournament or did Texas Tech and TCU not play in that tournament? Tournaments have bye rounds all of the time.

Is the Championship game an equal tournament game as the Round of 64? Do you get more wins for one over the other. They are just different rounds.

Everyone gives teams credit for securing a bye position in a conference tournament. ZERO people give 60 teams credit for earning their first round bye. We're both right, it's a separate round but it's also a play in game. Nobody called it a 'round' when we had a field of 65 and that's not too different.

This. If ISU were in this spot, I'd still consider it to be a play in game. When a single digit number of teams play before everyone else just to join a tournament involving 64 teams, I consider it a play-in. Most bracket games do too.

FWIW, I will always think those games are stupid. Best 64, you're one of them or you're not. We need to stop throwing participation ribbons at everything to pacify people.

So thinking about a fun thread or signature line for post tourney... NCAA Wins Fred ISU _?_ Francis EIU 0 *

* Loss doesn't really count since it wasn't Round of 64

What does Fred have from prior years? 2?
