Re: Pres. Leath addresses the Bubu Palo issue at Hilton today

I could see that JP would have a point if he hadn't looked the other way in a whole LOT of other athlete's indiscretions. Since when does he care about morals and values? He hasn't in the past, so why now? That's where he's lost me.

And then he decides to pick a fight with a case where the charges were basically dropped. Why? If JP is indeed a religious guy, fine, but then his religiosity must come and go then, and is not a consistent thing in his life.

Your personal attacks (based on nothing but conjuncture) on JP and Leath in this thread are over the line.

You really need to stop now.

I thought that guilt had to be proven, not innocents. We can all pray that doesn't change. What kind of world would that be??
That has next to nothing to do with the Iowa State University Student Conduct Policy.

Re: Pres. Leath addresses the Bubu Palo issue at Hilton today

Yes and no.

The "judge" in this case found him guilty. The "appeal judge" said not so fast my friend. The fact that two guys can't come to a consensus tells me it's not as cut and dried as it seems. This basically outlines why there are appeals.

My statement was factual. The higher "judge", Leath in this case, has precedence so as of today, Bubu is found to be in violation of the CoC.

I want to know what you are referencing in saying that JP hasn't cared about morals in the past?

He has a point although he might not be making it in the best way.

To say JP is a hypocrite for his handling of Bubu and Albert Gary I think is completely fair.

Take a nap. You're really reaching too far when you go for JP and core values, however you want to address that.

A good number of you folks won't be satisfied unless Leath and JP offer themselves as a joint sacrifice on top of Hilton, and then you'll complain that there wasn't enough blood. This really gets crazy.

There was a process. All agreed on it. It didn't work out for Bubu, so he appealed. Then ISU and the BoR made their respective actions. Now we're here. Life goes on.

From my understanding, this isn't even some principled stand posters are taking. Other Cyclone message boards don't have this controversy. Just a handful of people here revelling in their drama.

Leath and pollard aren't idiots, but it is curious the lack of consistency in this case.

That's a very fair take on it, and there should be questions.

i think this is right, while an unfortunate situation for everyone involved, I don't think as many people care as it appears on this message board

Re: Pres. Leath addresses the Bubu Palo issue at Hilton today

In a court of law, but certainly not in someone's opinion.

Agree, that is why this whole thing is out of control. I think that we can ALL agree that NONE of us will ever know the whole story. We will never know what did or didn't happen that night in May, we will never know what information the judge or president did or did not consider. All we can trust is the way our judicial system and appeals process works. Is it perfect? No, but it's the most fair system in the world. Bubu and the accused victim made their choices that night, she made the choice to pursue her rights, the president and BOR pursued their rights, Bubu pursued his rights to appeal.......every single person here did what they are entitled to do legally. Hypothetical's serve no purpose. We are where we are. I hope we can just trust in the system. We all really have no control, maybe that's what frustrates us all.

JP had no role in either of those cases. I don't know what you are talking about.

Honest question: was Gary's ALJ decision appealed to the President?

Re: Pres. Leath addresses the Bubu Palo issue at Hilton today

1) the first question is answered in itself. You are starting from the predetermined conclusion that JP and Leath are anti-ISU, which is inherently ridiculous.

2) there was nothing childish about any official statement ISU has made in this, especially Leath's comments to the Trib today. That was a very professional statement that stuck to the facts and didn't lash out or respond at all to the silly crybabies like you.

I can only conclude that Leath and JP don't care about Iowa State athletics, MBB, Fred Hoiberg, and Bubu Palo at this point. What other conclusion can you come to?

I understand they didn't want Bubu Palo on the team, and therefore booted him. Ok, fine. They could have handled that better as well, but oh well, we'll ignore that part of it.

Then Bubu took an option open to him and appealed it. Nothing wrong with that move at all either. Then the judge says that ISU and the BoR basically botched this thing so badly that he ruled in favor of Bubu.

That's where Leath and JP first really decided to put their egos above the good of Iowa State athletics, MBB, Fred Hoiberg, and Bubu Palo IMO. Instead of just filing an appeal to the Iowa Supreme Court like they should have, they first issue a statement voicing their OPINION that they don't agree with Bubu being on the team. Stupid. That did nothing good at all for Iowa State and especially Fred Hoiberg.

Then they appeal to the Iowa Supreme Court, which is also fully within their rights. No big deal, other than the fact they had to open their big fat yaps before they did and voice opinion rather than fact. And then the Iowa Supreme Court also rules against Leath and JP. So now they don't have any more actions to take, so they should just accept what the law has stated.

But no. Now today, Leath has to come out and give us some BS statement about how he couldn't decide anything because he was off vacationing all summer in Africa or some crap. Stupid. And then JP decides he has to act like a juvenile high school kid and tweet some idiotic thing about "Honor Before Victory" and if Bubu had any of this he wouldn't be on the team. What a total whiny, loser, b***h. What good does a statement like that do?

As of now, Leath and JP are destroying this athletic department. I feel horribly for Fred. What is he supposed to do? I swear, if we lose him over this, both Leath and JP need to be gone. Fred and Bubu have been the only ones acting mature in this matter so far.

Leath and JP exhausted all the avenues they could. Fine. Be done with it. But no. Now they are kicking and screaming like babies and it's destroying ISU athletics in front of our eyes.

Ah good, it's been awhile since a good Clonedude off the walls posting.

Thanks for the entertainment. Now politely leave or jump off a cliff of stupidity.

It's possible Leath and JP genuinely believe they are doing the right thing. It's possible they believe Bubu did violate the student code of conduct.

Also, reread some of the stuff you've posted on this site. JP isn't alone in acting whiny and juvenile.

Bingo! Everyone has exhausted all the avenues in this case. It's over and done with. Life goes on. I could not agree more!

But Leath and JP are the ones who can't let it lie. They're the whiny little kids that can't leave well enough alone and are going down kicking and screaming about how they don't think Bubu should be on the team and he has no "honor".

What kind of position does that put Fred in right now? I'll tell you where..... SCREWED. If Fred didn't care so much about Iowa State, I'd bet he'd be gone for sure. I can only hope his love for this school is stronger than his disgust in the position his bosses have put him in here. What a joke.

How can JP seriously say anything about "Honor Before Victory" when there's a convicted felon on the football team? How many problems did he have with Royce White joining us in Ames even though he had legal issues at Minnesota? David Irving is still on our football team correct?

He's running his mouth and he has no leg to stand on.
