Fire all the coaches.

Great post - my thinking exactly. When Messingham was named OC, Rhoads jokingly (?) said at the presser that now he has an OC that will "keep me informed." I'd like to think that our HC has enough confidence and knowledge to have input on offensive philosophy, offensive game plans, etc. CPR should have his hands around the throat of the entire program. Way too much delegation, IMO.

I disagree with that completely. He should hire someone capable and keep out of the offense. We can't know for sure but maybe he was making Herman do things he didn't want to do. Hell, maybe he's doing that with Mess.

I guess I would like to know how other DC's-turned-HC's have/are doing it. Saban? Stoops? Pelini? Dantonio? Bielema? Charlie Strong? Just would like to know their input and influence with their team's offense.

Can the mods please close this thread? We all know CPR is not getting fired, and only a very few assistant coaches will be moved or fired. This thread is is beating a dead horse.

People were angry all over this board when CPR refused to say he was going to be at ISU for life last year. I'll look up the threads if I have to and make fools of a bunch of you. CPR would go on his radio show and talk about how difficult it was to keep a CFB job because it's so difficult to keep the fan base on your side. He was the one who was right!

It's so difficult to win in college football...there is a ton of money there and you have the best of the best competing against each other.

I know Mike Leach said he stays completely out of the defense, and his defenses his last few years at Tech were actually decent. By no means great, but top half of the conference.

And the fact fans are turning on him scares the crap out of me. It's unlikely, but it wouldn't completely surprise me if Nebraska gives him a call once Pelini's fired at the end of this year.

Nebraska fans wouldn't like this at all.

Nebraska fans wouldn't like this at all.

A knowledgeable Nebraska fan told me his name was being thrown around on message boards. That's where I got it from. I don't think it's likely, but if Scott Frost would say no I wouldn't be completely stunned.

So they all know Scott Frost was the reason Lawrence Phillips threw his girlfriend down the stairs, right?

Assuming they're knowledgeable NU fans.

It's not just adjustments and coaching, it's also recruiting. The sunshine pumpers can say what they want and make excuses as to why, but our talent level is back to the mid-80's though mid-90's.

We are out-manned at every single position against a team like OU and this isn't even a good OU team.

I honestly don't care if Messingham is fired or not. It's clearly the head coach who is ultra conservative on offense.

omg guys, high completion percentage and ball control

Complete and utter BS. The offense has held this program back the last 5 years. What could have been even if we had an average Big 12 offense over that time period. We wouldn't be going 5-7 or 6-7 I assure you of that. Until coach Rhoads changes his mentality and let's the OC do his own thing, its not going to change. I don't care if Mike Leach was the OC.
