LOST is still my favorite show of all time...mostly for its story-line and entertainment value. But Breaking Bad is second with much better character development/writing/etc.

Lost was no where even close to BB. Lost just got silly at the end as I think the writers were struggling to find a way to wrap it up. BB was just perfect the entire way. And I really really loved lost. But the finale was so bad that it just ruined the entire series.

Exactly, Lost was the exact opposite of BB. It was nice to see the creators finally give a series a good conclusion that actually put things to rest, as opposed to, "It was all a dream" or "You were dead all the time"

That's exactly what I thought about right after he shot Jack even though Jack said he could tell him where the rest of the money is. In the past he wouldn't have done that because his greed (and pride) would not have let him let go of that money. But that time he finally just let go and said it wasn't worth it. I'm sure his bullet wound had an influence on his thinking, but it was still interesting to see him basically just end the whole push of his storyline over 5 seasons with that bullet.

What did Jack actually say right-before or just-as Walt shot him? I know he said something about the money, but did he actually say anything coherent?

I think he said something like, "You want your money? If you shoot me you'll never find out..." And then Walt shot him. From what I remember anyway.

I don't remember the exact words, but he basically said Walt would never find the money if he killed Jack.

How do you watch that finale without seeing the entire series. It would just be a ho hum boring tv episode.

I would guess they've been picking up people every week who have been frantically catching up via Netflix and DVR for the finale. I think these are pre-DVR numbers, right? If so some uptick isn't crazy, since this would be the one episode everyone would tolerate watching live and not DVR-ing to watch later.

I really hope they get the Call Saul series off the ground.

I think that's basically a done deal. Both Gilligan and Odenkirk have been talking about it when they make the rounds.

I was a little surprised that VG didn't have Walt torch the lab. Seeing him consumed in flames would've been a big heaping plate of symbolism that instead was replaced with a shot of the camera ascending above his body. I'm sure all of the God fearing folks out there in Missouri would've got the message... Don't Cook Meth.

I don't get it, didn't it basically insinuate that they were all dead in the church? From what I could tell, they could've died several times: initial plane crash, no one hit the countdown button, the old bomb they found. Is that not the case?

That was us- 4 1/2 seasons in three weeks, and the last eight episodes on DVR trying to catch up (we ended up maybe twenty minutes behind on the finale).

Thanks. That's what I was saying before. It wasn't that I was confused by it. I thought it was more profound than the attention is seemed to be getting.

If so, Walt was likely planning on killing Jesse right up until the last ten minutes of Breaking bad. But Walter was, as Hank reminded us, a pretty smart guy. Maybe he had it figured out before he ever left New Hampshire?

Walt asked Jessie's buddies who was selling and making the meth and realizing it was Jessie in the car after threatening the Schwartz's, I don't think he knew in NH. I think he was going to kill Jessie, but once he saw him, all the feelings he had for saving Jessie rushed in. Just as he had saved Jessie over and over, it repeated. I don't think he intended to live through the gun fire, he only went down to save Jessie.

I think the nods between them of acknowledgement of each other, and the Walt/Skyler scene were the most satisfying of the ending.

Anyone catch Skyler's face reflected in the microwave in that scene? I loved when she said 5 minutes. You just had a feeling when she was talking with Marie, he was standing there.

I read an interview with the two leads, and they made it sound like Walt went there intending to get Jesse too.

A couple folks have suggested that Walt wouldn't kill Jesse. He absolutely would have and it was Walt who told Jack to kill Jesse out in the desert. But Todd stepped in and said they could use him. So, yes, I think Walt would kill him, but I think Walt quickly put it together that they were still "using" Jesse. I think that's part of why he went to the clubhouse knowing Jesse was captive. To do the right thing in the end.
