Breaking Bad

I do not think Grey Matter has any part in the Meth business.

This is a character driven show and I still think we are missing a big piece of the puzzle that is Walt's character, why is he so egotistical and prideful? I think that is where Grey Matter comes in and makes a small 2-5 minute appearance in the finale, basically the reason he left Gretchen.

I think people are reading too much into the Gray Matter appearance. I think its purpose was to change Walt's mind about turning himself in and to re-state that the old Walt is gone and only Heisenberg is left, nothing more.

There are still so many ways the show could go in the last episode, can't wait!

Disagree. Walt has nothing if not for Pride! He was insulted that they said his only contribution was the name. He is going to take out his former partners at GM.

I thought it was because she cheated on him?

I know I'm a broken record on this but I still think a lot of these predictions are far to hopeful. I'd be surprised if more than a couple characters were still alive when it ends. He's been relatively pretty lucky and successful so far despite being a bad human being, now it's time for all that bad Karma to catch up to him.

I think Walt dies. I think he tries to redeem himself. I think he kills the Nazis and possibly saves Jesse,

I also think his family either doesn't take the money, or receives money but doesn't know it's from Walt, and never views him any differently than the murderous psycopath Heisenberg. The ultimate tragedy.

In one of the Talking Bad episodes, the actress that plays Skyler says that in the final episode, everyone gets what they deserve.

Yeah, Walt repeatedly says "It can't all be for nothing." But maybe in the end, we see it was.

Bingo. I don't even think we see anything more than a brief mention of Gray Matter in the finale. Certainly Walt is not going to choose to take revenge against them rather than the guys who stole his money and killed Hank.

I still think the influence of that interview was that it motivated Walt to attempt redemption.
He seemed to get pretty angry when they said he contributed nothing, and they even showed his fist clenching up on that part. Although I don't think he's going to go on a murderous rampage to kill them.

The more I think about how it would be justice for Jesse to be the one to take out Todd, the more I think it won't happen because that just doesn't seem to be Vince Gilligan's style.

I thought the Schwartz's would have a more prominent role. Don't think so after seeing this:

How

Good link. Kind of what I had thought after first watching it. It is a catalyst for Walt to act on something else, i.e. prove to everyone (not Grey Matter specifically) that he's still a force to be reckoned with.

As far as I know, that's never been said in the show.

It never HAS been said on the show, although the actress who plays Gretchen Schwartz told an interviewer that she questioned her motivation in a scene where Walter White curses her offer to pay for his treatment, and executive producer Vince Gilligan provided the backstory:

"Q: What’s it like have Bryan Cranston curse at you?
A: Oh man, he’s a good actor. But it was easy because Vince Gilligan told us exactly what went down between the characters off screen: We were very much in love and we were to get married. And he came home and met my family, and I come from this really successful, wealthy family, and that knocks him on his side. He couldn’t deal with this inferiority he felt — this lack of connection to privilege. It made him terrified, and he literally just left me, and I was devastated. Walt is fighting his way out of going back to that emotional place, so he says, “F— you.”

Well, maybe I'm way off then. Either way, that is freaking stupid Walt. Beautiful, smart girl who loves you, shares your interests, and comes from a wealthy family? Yup, better run away.

Asshat.
